There are a lot of threads that theorycraft ideas. Usually the thread incorporate using a new unit or spell, or trying a new unit combination. The ones you often see are about queen usage in ZvT or dark archons in PvZ. So I've decided I'm going to start anew on iCCup & play all match ups with a special style or incorporating under-used units & spells.
I'm a Protoss player and thus far I have decided on:
If you have any ideas for match ups, please post them here. I'll be posting replays & some write-ups about how they worked or didn't work later in the day.

PvP: Mass goons and use a probe shield of about 10 probes to counter the opponent's more expensive zealot supplements.

reaverhallucination in midgame PvP
if he focus fires at all he's fucked edit: ofcourse archon hallucination is a classic one too. gets focusfired automatically, and you can have a shitload of real ones too after you merged your hallucinating ht's

pvp - corsair dt, you hunt down observers with the corsairs
|
Yea, you can work with hallucination alot imo maybe in PvP and definitely PvT. Give it a try and tell us how it went!
|
I remember seeing a pro game pvp on katrina where one of the players made a DA and used it to feedback his opponents HT's, that was pretty sweet.
I'd also like to see a PvT where toss gets arbs and constantly sends dts around the map and then makes DA's to feedback science vessels
Something i was just thinking about today was a build that takes advantage of the uniqueness of Andromeda having that min only up your main ramp. Instead of the normal forge FE you put down a gate instead and expo at your main into a power zeal timing attack. I dont know if this would actually work since you're stuck on 1 gas forever but since you're mostly just pumping zeals as fast as possible you might find a timing window where you would be able to get away w/ it.

I'll say it again. Skipping Robo completely and using DA's MC to MC Overlords for detection.
|
In the recent pgl games the chinese players used early dweb vs terran, early da vs zerg, late game hallucination
so.. yea...
Bit of a shame nowdays everyone just copies the pro league scene and throwing creative play out the window
|
I use DA's in almost every PvZ.

Chill is Gosu, This way you could skip observers for Lurkers.
DA/HT DROP, Da's for Maelstrom and then you Psi Storm, or use archon to kill stacked workers
|
PvT get a scout to take hits from turrets for your reaver drop (with zealots to take hit from tanks)
PvZ hallucinate shuttles for storm drops

multi robo zealot/reaver doom drop pvp

The dweb PvT is so freaking strong.
The way Ive done it and I have seen a really good protoss friend of mine do it is by just massing goons only and since early in the game getting corsairs but dont let em in sight... These strat is good to beat those turtlers T's that come out when they have a huge mass, you will be surprised how quickly their army goes down with dweb.. so basically start researching and gatherin a good amount of corsairs since early in the game and dont show them until the big deciding battle comes into place + Show Spoiler + One of the best feelings in the world, seeing GOONS ONLY destroying a massive Terran Army just because of DWEB

God I love that shit, goon/sair is probably my favorite build of all time.

Even if the reaver's don't fire, you may be able to get them to think the scarabs are just building and you have horrible timing... xD
