Basically no new information here, we have already seen the map and that's about it. It's a very small testing team as well so I doubt anyone's breaking NDA.
I do wish they could work on some more tilesets though. Every map being a plain looking wastelands or forest is a bit boring. Half of what makes an RTS stand out is a cool looking map.

If you weight in how much money was spend on developing SG, it is a failed product.
With so many other great games to play, i cant imagine that 3v3 will move the needle much.

Their finances is an open info. We know their budget, we know their spendings. We can estimate their profits by selling MTX. (It's non-factor anyway, ~3000 active players won't pay you much). They have ~3-5 months of runaway. No new money from investors. Almost no money from MTX. It's finished. Don't speak otherwise, you might decieve someone into paying for the failed project. This is live service, even campaign is online. It's gone when they shut down the servers.

Major investor and Korean publisher Kakao games going ahead with the first big Korean league (they've already run many smaller events).

I don't get the idea. The game has viewer peak of 76 people on holydays. Why would you spend money on the tournaments as an investor?

This tourney is for Koreans and going to be streamed on Soop/Afreeca. I imagine viewership going to be decent with the high profile players.

That and kakao has already invested into stormgate so they probably want to do what they can to help it succeed.

I imagine viewership going to be decent with the high profile players. The viewership wasn’t great last time with Jeadong, and they already made a deal with Kakao a few months ago before EA. I'm pretty sure the marketing strategy would have changed if they knew about the massive disappointment.
Now, everyone’s waiting for the last shot with the 3v3 and campaign upgrade.

It's good marketing for the game, and perhaps needed to try and boost early access income. But the game just isn't there yet, I feel like more promotion before a product is finished isn't the way.
If SC2 was getting publicity before it was polished and ready to be revealed, would it have been as successful?
The upcoming patch is apparently touching on map terrain and multiplayer balance, so it might make the game much better in time for this. But still, there's a lot of art and sound improvements to be made, the new art director is apparently overhauling the Infernal first, so hopefully all the reveals are things ready to actually be shown

They look awesome! I hope they don't make them more cartoony.

How much their look will change is unclear, could be anything from enhancing their shading/visual clarity, to designing skins, to remodels like they did for Exos and Amara.
I do agree it's odd to start with Infernal as they are definitely the best looking of the three. Imps, weavers, spriggans, and hexens are especially cool. Although maybe it's worth having one faction that looks great fully polished first, as opposed to have three unfinished ones gradually getting there

yeah its weird. I would have worked on Celestial first, then vanguard, then infernal. infernal needed it the least. The only thing I can think of is if they do a good job it will look the most impressive since infernal already looks the best.

That is probably it. Being completely done with at least one race is better than beeing half done with 3 races

I hope FG understand you can't just redesign the units and buildings and that would be it. It's the entire aesthetic that would need to get reworked, including cinematic and neutrals, even the plot will feel off if they don't have everything cohesive.

The 0.1.3 patch will be released on Nov 12.
This mostly seems to be a balance patch, alongside a handful of new maps and map updates.

Patch Notes Thanks for sharing. Took a few patches but now they're getting to exactly the solution I suggested. Nerf dogs (back when they were overwhelming) but buff them vs creeps so vanguard doesn't fall behind. I like that change a lot. BUT the atlas change scares me. In the right hands I could see this being nigh unstoppable. I'd rather they settle around what SC2 did where they buffed the unit but made it not able to be picked up while siege. Why should a long range, high damage unit also be highly mobile? What's the downside? What's the counter. With good exo sentinel control u should never be able to kill it. Unless there is something im missing! I also think no creep camps won't work with how stormgate is now. The game pace is too slow. Turtle stalemate games could take over. But that's just an experimental custom map so I don't super mind. If they made the game faster it could be cool but as is I'm having trouble seeing it.

It’s a good, albeit depressing patch.
I think it’s mostly fucking solid. I think it’s evidence there’s some good ideas there, some talent. But game’s dead already I fear
There are few patches in any game I’ve read recently where I think basically everything is a good call, that gave me some confidence folks know what they’re doing. Here I think it’s almost all good
I really, really like speeding various projectile speeds. It doesn’t massively change engagements and TTK, but it’ll make engagements more initially punchy
I think it’s a very clever change. You still keep the more forgiving TTK but you do punch a bit harder
