actually I'll still say that, Snow really got exposed by Speed there.
I think that's only fair if we don't think Speed actually played well... Did he?
Snow is the soulkey of protoss, in that he can play extremely well from behind and somehow willpower his way to victory with amazing micro, great awareness and really good choices. Its like how SnOw almost beat Soulkey on Blitz while playing from behind last semi-finals. SnOw is championship material and Speed is not quite there yet. Speed overpressed, and while his vulture play facilitated by his crazy high apm and multitasking is awesome when it works, when it doesn't that's a lot of supply not achieving much and not being added to his ball of death.
Hard disagree. Soulkey is much, much more creative than snow. Snow excels at micro, but not at strategy, where soulkey sets himself apart from other top Zergs (besides his well-known godly macro). Also, Blitz Y is heavily protoss-favored, so if anything, that match with Soulkey proved how Soulkey was able to beat Snow even when in disadvantage.
WOW... Speed has lost today, but won my heart! Really, that was absolutely a bliss to watch and enjoy. It was kinda like watching a terran version of Bisu. What a play and multitasking! If he keeps his calm and get more experienced, this guy can win the whole thing in times to come.

His vulture control and style most reminds me of Fantasy, lots of vulture harass, concept of trading vultures for economic damage while allowing Terran to secure more map vision and control to safely expand while building deathball.
Jesus. I knew Snow n Mini both advancing was the dream, but goddamnnnnnnnnnnnn... ALMOST Rain and Speed. Rain advancing first, aaaaaah, this looks bad on me

I was semi-expecting a snow choke...but to Mini...to go this toe to toe vs speed is troublesome...
Honestly if they face off, I can see Barracks beating Snow in the playoffs
The meta shift in TvP, coincided with Flash return on the ladder, plus the Terran favored map pool, has seen significant changes in the win rate of the match up recently .
Normally (as in 1-2 years up to mid 2024) Light was the only one with a positive win rate for Terran against the top 4 Protoss, while Snow dominated almost everybody with absurd win rate. But since August, Snow has only 30% win rate vs Light (used to be 50-55%), 40% vs Royal (used to be 65-70%) and 50% vs Barracks (used to be 80-90%). Doesn't help that he has been off form himself for months now. I think it's even worse for Best and Mini. Currently Protoss can't cope with Terran's 5-6 Fact meta.
So yeah, one year ago you'd bet your house on Snow beating Barracks in a Bo7 (9-0'd him a couple of times) but this season it's 50/50. And if he gets Light /Royal he's not even favourite.
LB secured! Rain played surprisingly well vs Speed, especially with how crazy Speed was playing vs Snow. I thought Rain would just rely on his PvP to get out of the group, but maybe he wasn't kidding in the group selection about renouncing LoL.
Speed brought out some GREAT TvPs, really rooting for him in future ASLs/SSLs.
Mini barely got to play, he lost the BO match ups which seems super harsh in PvP. Hope he doesn't beat himself up too much but it certainly was a hard group for any P.
Quick notes from yesterday. 1)Rain kept his word from group selection ceremony that he will delete all other games and focus on BW. 2)SnOw made a great job with winning the final game.As he is 2-2 with speed totally. 3)Along with Barracks Speed seems exceeds expectations. 4)Mini does not seem interested ASL. He did not even prepare one game.

What changed actually? Is it a map factor? Where fast carriers became more punishable?
I loved Speed's games. I cannot recall a terran engaging in multiple small engagements like that. The way he was able to trade well with small quantities was phenomenal. The only trouble for him was that snow is also a master of small engagements. I think he just needs to get a bit better with his choices of how to split off units. A few times I saw him split off some tanks to harass a 'not important target' and then really miss them when the real engagement happened.
Just when Barracks was becoming my favourite terran...
Royal starts with a 12 Nexus unharmed but spends the mid game chasing Vultures, allowing Mini to have total map control, be able to greed with early third, and come back from the opening deficit.
