Seemed alright for the couple hours I played.
Story is whatever. I'm only partway through the main quest since I got bored and decided to go exploring instead. So far I've unlocked all the teleport points on the first island except for one which I assume is story locked. Plenty to do in the open world. I wasn't too hot on the starting location, but some other areas are very good looking.
New enemy types exist. Not much to talk about there since they're very typical. They're more tanky than usual for sure, which makes domains moderately annoying. The new world boss is meh.
Boating still sucks. It's just not very engaging. They also got rid of the bug that refills your stamina, which adds to the annoyance.
The tutorial was extremely unhelpful (as per usual), but the "teleport" mechanic is fun. Open world puzzles are pretty tame, and some of them are locked behind progression (which I really don't like). I still haven't found any of the more complicated puzzles.

I barely touched Inazuma yet. Plotted some land in teapot and started main quest. Not much to tell yet
Ayaka seems a lot like Mona aesthetically but better. More consistent damage numbers and infinite cryo applications. Paired with Mona and XQ she can probably perma freeze for month. Waiting for more YT reviews before pulling though

So far Inazuma is OK, not amazing but also not bad, maybe a little small. I do dislike the boat travel thought, as always.
I think I'm not gonna roll for anyone besides the Electro Archon herself. Although if the leaks are to be believed she will not come in 2.1 either so... 2.2, maybe 2.3 at earliest. Mihoyo seems to have nailed down making balanced and fair characters. I'm not interested in rolling for these solid, not broken toons. I want Ganyu/Venti levels of broken. Outliers that will be henceforth used as measuring sticks for any future character releases for the same role, weapon use or element.

Maybe Baal will be 1 year of Genshin Impact celebration hero I don't really see myself playing for another 3 months and patch 2.1 and 2.2 will be pretty minor again I guess, who knows.
Will do some more exploring on the weekend hoping for some challenging content with difficult enemies and hard puzzles
|
Well, new infos are out
Apparently Baal, a cryo bow user and a hydro user will come with 2.1 Aaaaand there will be a collab with Horizon zero dawn and Aloy will come to genshin as a 5 star. Probably 2.2
Grain of salt, this is all from reddit leakers
It's on Paimon twitter now. Legit

Actually, now that I've sank my teeth deeper into Inazuma I think it's so far the best, most beautiful and varied zone/ecosystem they've done so far. The forest at night give off an azure glow due to the flowers, while during the day the grass is jade colored. Just the right amount of streams, cliffs to climb and underground passages to explore. The zone has 3 levels to it a lot of the time. Underground for shrines, puzzles and secrets and suberged islands, ground level for towns, forests and overall getting around, and finally the above-ground cliffs, buildings and big floating islands to explore. Inazuma is made out of 3 main islands each having its own weather and ecosystem. The main island is serene and diverse, the middle island is mysterious and a battleground and the 3rd island has a perpetual thunderstorm that makes it difficult to explore, clearly showing that something is amiss. It has a half-sunken fortress and a skeleton of a HUGE snake that could probably rival the dragon at Dragonspine in Mondstadt or 1 of the heads of the water hydra we fought over in Liyue.
Waveskipper still sucks tho. kek. Thanfully you don't really have to use it often. Just get around all the islands once, unlock their statues and teleports and never board the ship again.

drop rates on ruin sentinel and nobushi/kairagi are so low, and sakura need to spawn faster ;(

Caught up to the story, taking my sweet ass time with exploration. 92% on the first island, gonna be a bit of a doozy trying to find the remaining 8%. This is definitely why I play this game, though.

Sitting at around 85% exploration. I still haven't done part 2 of the story, though I did finally complete the character quests. Ayaka's was just boring. Yoimiya's was a lot better in comparison. World quests have been varied, and some have been pretty good. Southlight and I talked about it today, and it seems like they've started using cutscenes more liberally (though they still ignored the voyage to Inazuma for whatever reason).
In terms of puzzles, I think the archipelago was better. There's not a lot to chew on in Inazuma - they all seem to be more on the obvious side, from the cubes to the lasers to the compasses. I haven't seen anything comparable to the archipelago pools of water. "Shoot the dome" type puzzles are particularly bad, as they're basically just trial and error. There is no real logic involved - just turn the tower and test it until the beam gets redirected.
Inazuma bounties are great - no more clue hunting required! Mondstadt and Liyue bounties remain unchanged though.
Fought pyro cube a bunch for achievements. It's kind of a pain in the butt, as the damage window seems very small. I don't have a particularly good team for it, unfortunately.

I'm sitting at 69% (nice) exploration, but I've only unlocked every domain/teleporter/statue and collected the electro sigils on the first two islands. Still have the 3rd to explore. I'm actually the opposite of Spazer, I really liked Ayaka's questline while absolutely despising Yoimiya's. So much useless running around back n forth and so much useless dialogue.
For me the compass puzzles are very often bugged. Sometimes all it takes is to teleport to the nearest teleporter and walk back, sometimes I have to teleport, close app, relaunch app and go back on foot again... it's pretty bad TBH.
+ Show Spoiler [small leak] + There are 3 more smaller islands to Inazuma, that will be released in the future, probably with Baal's banner, whenever that comes

Couldn't resist and pulled for Ayaka ^^'
She is actually quite fun. Her "sprint" is super usefull in traversing islands. Dont really need a boat at all. Perma freezing enemies with a combination of E and sprint is easy and makes for fun gameplay. Can't say anything about her power level yet since you need a ton of new resources for her and it'll take a while to get her to ~80 with 8/8/8 talents and decent artifacts Had 10 more wishes and got lucky with her sword as well. But this thing also needs a ton of new resources -.-
Inazuma: I hate the zipline thingy. Hate it. Always the wrong direction. it's okay when you do a challenge where you go across something but it's freaking awful when you need to collect something in an area. Always attached to the wrong direction...
Still at the very beginning of exploring. There are a loooooot more dialogues now right? Like main quest and Ayaka quest were as much dialogue as all the other quest until now combined.

Finished part 2. It feels reeeally rushed in comparison to part 1.
+ Show Spoiler [Story] +You're immediately thrust into a half-scripted boss fight against Raiden that is kinda neat. Somehow you escape, and she doesn't bother chasing because she's stupid and only capable of walking very slowly.
You find the resistance instantly (Thoma doesn't follow you for reasons) and become best buds with them despite how incompetent they seem. You help them repair a hole in their fence which was a serious problem since it was 4 feet away from the enormous entry path.
You 1v1 a couple random mooks because Sara is stupid. And then a battle happens in which you do nothing even though you could've soloed the entire army. The cavalry arrives and that's it.
Very, very strange.
It's about as underwhelming as Liyue part 2. I'm not exactly optimistic for the story in patch 2.1, assuming it's continuing or finishing then.

100%'d all three areas, shows 54% in exploration progress (~50%) which makes sense i guess :')
spazer how tf did your achievements rocket so fast?? i was within 5 at some point and now youre like +40

Like I said before, it's the one aspect of the game I take semi-seriously. I knocked out a bunch of the coop stuff over the weekend. There's only a handful left before I'm time gated again.

what list or tool are you using?

Honeyhunter is basically the only reputable source, but it's a pain since there's no filtering - it's straight HTML tables. So I end up using random lists like this one to actually keep track of things. It's missing some hidden achievements though.
Eventually I suck it up and cross-check Honeyhunter.

I'm fishing for the last few quests from Inazuma, and apparently they're either ones you get in dailies or have to complete the 7-day questline for Tatarasuna mine... which is a bummer...
I think we can only get 95 electrolus for now, which stops your Statue of the Seven progression at about level 6... I'm at level 6, 18/22 needed for level 7, but I know there are 2 more on the map. Unfortunately, to get them you need to get the Sacred Tree to level 17 (yes, seventeen) which is frankly insane. Mine is currently at level 13... if you scroll all the way down you'll see the Sacred Sakura actually has 50(!) levels total.
I guess they really want to keep us here, huh? Do everything. Every. Single. Thing. Find every chest, do every challenge, complete every quest.
Thankfully we still have 3 unreleased islands to go... although smaller than the current ones, they better be jam-packed with things to gather.

That's what you get for complaining about Dragonspine was too quick and no reason to ever go there again ^^

I'm mostly waiting for Tatara tales to finish so that one area doesn't annoy the crap out of me. Hitting level 17 on the tree isn't too bad - I'm already maxed out at 20 without actively chest hunting. Granted, most of my chest finds are from cleaning up the other odds and ends (mostly RNG "dailies").

Been slowly exploring Inazuma and had been trying to avoid any spoilers for the past week. Inazuma is small in terms of land area relative to Mondstadt or Liyue, but it is more heavily broken up and has a lot of coastline. Nice that it is easy to climb with lots of resting spots, despite that everybody will have max stamina and likely have charcters that can aid climbing. Also nice that they didn't use that low res ugly rock texture they use for Mondstadt/Liyue. Some puzzles are buggy like the compasses doesn't seem to register half the time and I can't tell if the electro relays have been previously finished or not. Also had the "Gazing Three Thousand Miles Away bug" in the notices, though thankfully it resolved itself the next day. Too many puzzles are just straight up trail and error. I spent ages trying to figure out how to open up Shakkei Pavilion because for some reason there is a massive hidden cave behind it full of nothing in it and in the end had to look up the solution. Ridiculous.
Though for all that it's wonderful to explore a mostly well made area. The new enemies are fun to fight, and there is something I find amusing about picking up beetles as material. Hopefully they wouldn't end up as food ingredient. Kind of funny that they never did find a use for loach pearl after all this time. Going through all that dialogue was such a slog. No idea why they don't just instantly show the dialogue and clicking changes to the next dialogue instead of being forced to wait a second each time and it isn't even skippable half the time, which is so painful for a fast reader being forced to read at the pace the letters are scrolling across. And as usual the storytelling is just terrible.
