Following my survey just a couple of weeks ago about creating an online replay analyzer / sharing site, I've decided to make it a reality. After a month of work, I'm presenting to you
repmastered.icza.netA StarCraft: Brood War game database, replay sharing and analyzer site.(click on the images for larger views)
Features
The following is a brief list of RepMastered™'s main features.
Multi-replay upload
You can easily upload single or multiple replays at once on the Upload page. You may select a single or multiple replays in a folder. You may also select a folder, and all replays within it will be uploaded (recursing down to subfolders too). You can upload hundreds (or maybe thousands) of replays with the folder feature with a few clicks.
Replay and game detection
The site detects and handles if the same replay is uploaded multiple times, so you don't have to worry about that. Uploading the same replay multiple times does no harm.
The site also detects and handles if multiple replays of the same game are uploaded, replays from multiple participants of a game. In fact, it is encouraged to upload replays even if the game already exists due to someone else's replay from the game. Having multiple replays of the same game allows to obtain and display more accurate information.
Comprehensive replay analyzer
A comprehensive replay analyzer right in your browser to show you what's inside replays without having to download and watch. This includes:
- Showing key information about the game
- Presenting highly customizable charts (like APM, EAPM, Hotkeys, Build Orders, Strategy)
- Summary about players
- An animated map view of the game (showing builds over time). It's like re-playing your game right in your browser!
- A Build Orders table
- Chat of the game
- All of the commands issued by the players during the game, with inefficiency classification
Replay tagging
You may upload replays anonymously, but it's recommended to Login first, so replays uploaded by you will be tagged automatically with "↑ My Uploads". There are several additional builtin, system tags that you can apply on games, such as "❤ Favorite", "👍 GG", "👎 BM", "😂 LOL", "😲 WOW". You can also add your own tags and fully customize them. You can hide / unide any tags at any time–even the builtin, system tags. On the Games page you can select tags to list and filter your tagged games easily.
In-depth statistics
All kinds of stastics are gathered automatically from Players, Maps and Matchups. These include number of games, record (wins-losses-unknown), races used, first and last games, weighted average APM and EAPM, average game length etc. Player and Map profile pages even break down these statistics by matchups, races, formats and game types. Player profile pages also list the top playmates, with a link to list all playmates of the player.
Easy navigation, Popups
Many entities such as Players, Maps, Matchups, game formats, types, game dates have popups wherever they are displayed. Clicking on these entities displays a popup with items to quickly go to Player and Map profile pages, list games of the entity, copy their name to the clipboard, or set them as filters when appropriate.
Passwordless login
You can use the site anonymously, but it's recommended to Login. repmastered.icza.net uses passwordless authentication: you never have to enter any passwords. You provide your email address, and a one-time entry code is emailed to you. You verify your email and login by copying the entry code from the email sent to you.
Sharable pages and links
You can save and share any link / page of RepMastered™. The link also "remembers" which tab you have had opened on the Game details, or which search terms you have entered on the Games page, along with the results page number.
Settings
The site offers a fair amount of options and settings to customize charts and the map view. These settings are saved and remembered locally (in your browser) even if you are not logged in.
User specific settings (including custom tags) can be viewed / edited on the Settings page (requires login).
As a sign of "good faith", I've uploaded all my past replays that I could find. This means more than 12 thousand replays! Most of them is from the age before SC2, and most of them is played on BGH. If you played BGH back in those days, it's likely you're included in some of my games. You can check my main player's profile page here: Dakota_Fanning
Some of my old replays "feature" BGH legends like kOOlam (aka kural), Merf (aka JacksonMichael) etc.

Thanks Dakota, this looks great!
Do you have any other planned features, or do you consider it "complete" for now?
|
May I ask, in the map animation, it only shows buildings, can it also show units? I was always dreaming of a way not watching replays logging into the game but if possible on a website on the go. Could something like this happen? Also if your replay section gets flooded by users the pages would be endless. Maybe make some sections for the users to put replays with sections like "very close game" "very cheesy game" I dunno just an idea I would like to throw out.

Units cannot be displayed on the map accurately, because the replay does not have enough information about unit positions. That would require recreating the game engine, which is obviously not feasible.
There are already many thousand games in the database, it is obviously not all for the human eye. By default, the latest games are displayed (games are sorted by replay date descending), and you can use filters (like players, map, matchup, your tags etc) to quickly find games you're interested in.
Replay tagging is already implemented, but for now there are only 2 tags: "My Uploads" and "Favorites". The former is automatic (replays you upload while logged in gets tagged with your "My Uploads"), and the "Favorites" is manual: you can tag any replay as your favorite. It's easy to add new tags, and I plan to do so. And you can list / filters replays with your tags (e.g. you can list your favorites only, and you can filter them further by players, maps etc.).

website not available now? i could get on it earlier with different computer but not now.... edit: works again
would like a way to separate 1v1 from 2v2 and others (3v3, bgh) for example
a feature i would love to have but very hard to implement would be a way to read the "build order" data of the game and present it as an actual build order name (for example just saying "3 hatch muta" in a ZvT), this build order name should then be displayed on the games list and would make it able to search for very specific games (for example 3 hatch muta vs +1 5 rax)
|
The thing it does is you can now easily find out who is who on fast nick etc. because you can just click on the nick and see all other games with that person. :o (as long as database is big)
Edit: seems bonyth uploaded all his replay or someone uploaded all his replays? ;

Filtering by 1v1, 2v2 etc seems a fair request, but it's not always obvious: often there are observers who don't participate in games, and there are the melee games where there isn't a predefined format. Will think about it how to solve it reasonably.
Extracting named build orders is indeed a non-trivial task, given that replays do not store the success of commands (e.g. it's not possible to tell if an issued "Build Pylon" command was carried out successfully, or the probe was killed on its way to the destination).
About website availability: the site is only hosted over secure HTTPS protocol, but not over HTTP. Today's browsers should automatically use HTTPS if the website's domain is .app (like repmastered.app). Attempting to explicitly use HTTP won't work.

for 1v1, 2v2 filtering, you can perhaps look at who's actually building stuff?

Time for some updates.
Added a News page so changes and new features can easily be tracked.
New Build Orders chart. It visualizes builds and their build times (duration) over time. See the first post for an example image.
New Strategy chart. It is similar to the Build Orders chart. For now it displays the following strategy actions: Expand (when Nexus, CC or Hatchery is built), Defense (when Bunker, Cannon, Sunken or Spore is built), Drop (when unload commands are given), Recall, Scan, Nuke (when Nuke is launched) and Nydus (when Nydus is built).

Time for another update.
Added the Settings page. You can review / edit user settings on this page (requires login).
Full Tags support!
- Extended the builtin system tags: "↑ My Uploads", "❤ Favorite", "👍 GG", "👎 BM", "😂 LOL", "😲 WOW"
- Added colors to tags
- You can add / edit / delete your own, custom tags which you can fully customize. You can set its colors, and enter a note which gets displayed as a tooltip.
- The Game details page now contains a Tags bar at the top which lists all tags. Tagging / untagging games is just a single click!
- You can hide / unhide any tags at any time. Hidden tags are not displayed anywhere, but associated games are kept. You can even hide builtin, system tags.

Not only does this rival BWChart but its much better.

I really like this site. Would be great if search would work on approximate find, not only exact match. (e.g searching "La mancha" would give all La Manacha games, now it returns nothing as you need to type "La Mancha 1.1")
