As for the Larvae... damn I didn't even notice that. That's a huge difference. It might also be that Serral killed some Queens, since he only had 2 at the time of that pic? I'm not sure, I only watched the game live.
I bet they are writing a longer piece for such a major victory and the record breaking 4th WCS win.

On the other hand, the fact that he only played ZvZ showcases that there is a problem in the foreign scene or in the game itself.

One tournament can never showcase that, unless it's a whole bunch of the exact same strategy bring abused, which wasn't the case.

On the another hand, Reynor had waaay less larva for some reason not "for some reason", he stopped injecting. Serral didn't Both are true. He stopped injecting for some reason. FOR SOME REASON he didn't have the APM, he didn't jsut chose to play worse "for some reason"
As far is I observed, Raynor is imensely fast, easily sitting at 400+ avarage APM, often at 500+, with peaks at 1000. He may very well be the fastest player on earth right now. Definitely APM wasn't the reason.

then what would showcase that for you? A Zerg won 4 WCS a year, you might say it was because Serral is too good. But how comes all the top WCS players who can actually compete with Serral are mostly Zerg: Scarlet, Raynor, Lambo ?

So impressed by Serral, and he is the best forign player I have seen. Still Raynor, Scarlett and Lambo played really well. Sad that Scarlett and Raynor didnt make it to Blizzcon. We miss the there.
Even if I think that Maru and Serral are the 2 best player they can still loose in the first stage of Blizzcon because the stiff competition. My dream final is Maru against Serral but probably TY against Stats .

Totally agreed. Compared to GomTvT (especially in the 1-1-1 era), Broodlord Infestor in late 2011 to early 2013, and probably protoss at some point (blink stalker era maybe? Otherwise MAYBE 4Gate, but that was mostly limited to PvP, mostly...), this is nothing. In fact, I'd say the most commonly used strategy in this tournament was probably Terran proxies.

Two of the three "top WCS players" are not even at blizzcon. There is definetily no problem with Zerg at the top level as can be seen in GSL. There might be a case for Uthermals argument that Zerg ist just easier to play to get to a decent level, which would also explain the huge amount of zergs right below the top WCS players.
But tbh the top WCS Zergs might simply be better than Korean Zergs right now. It was always the race where the both regions were the closest in skill and Serral raised WCS Zergs to a whole new level. Especially in ZvZ there are a whole bunch of foreig players I would pick over almost any korean zerg. Reynors ZvT is also looking monstrous and he looks on track to be a top 5 zerg in non time. Behind that you have Elazer, Scarlett, Lambo who all show flashes of brilliance but are a bit incosistent this year. I expect most of the upsets at blizzcon to be in the vz matchups, because Koreans might not get the best practive against Zerg in their region.

what makes you think that? Just because Serral won GSL vs World? Sure but what about other foreign zergs? Serral is the only one proved to be same level with top Koreans. Rest of foreign zergs? They proved NOTHING. Reynor made ro16 in GSL, cool but does that make him better than someone like Dark and Rogue? lmao
foreign zergs result in GSL 2018
Scarlett: ro8 in s1 but eliminated in ro32 in s2, and eliminated in qualifier in s3
Lambo: eliminated in qualifier
Elazer: eliminated in ro32
Reynor: eliminated in ro16
rest: eliminated either in qualifier or ro32
In your logic, foreign zergs can't practice well vs terran and protoss in their region.
It's like this, Korean fans think foreign terran and protoss are bad, so their zerg seems looking good in their region.
