To be fair it's not his first GSL because he participated in qualifiers last year I think it counts if it's your first Code S.

Where was the b-ling play? Nydus? Ovie bling bombs? Swarm host harass? He didnt show anything from his usual ZvP, he just sat there waiting to die... I just dont get it :/ Yeah, his play looked really weird. I don't know what was going on there. He's inconsistent, of course, but I can't remember the last time he looked that bad in the GSL. He really looked lost. Not taking anything away from Neeb, though. He looked really good and he completely crushed Rogue. And part of Rogue looking so hopeless was Neeb's play, obviously.
These comments don't really make sense to me. Rogue looked the opposite of lost to me, why does no one ever actually discuss the actual builds that happened in the game and how they matched up against each other.
Rogue's undoing today was pretty simple, he played a very strategically interesting series with a lot of prepared builds and strategies. To me, this harkens back to how Rogue's original style which is very innovative but kind of risky and not as solid. He got bad build order matchups and basically none of his plans worked. Emphasis on the fact that his plans didn't work. Other zergs play more reactively, but Rogue had very specific plans for each game it seems. He lost obviously, but he didn't look lost, he was very decisive with his strategies but they didn't work. It's that simple. If you're playing a more strategic style of zerg and it doesn't pay off, it's always going to look like a beatdown, Rogue was never swimming in a huge economy in any of these games.
You can criticise Rogue's overall choice to play in this way today, and ofc in retrospect, it clearly wasn't correct. But he came in with a very specific gameplan and it failed. You can't really criticise these games as if they were long macro games with a bunch of game changing decisions within the game, these games were largely shaped by decisions outside the game.
Did anyone bash Solar when he went a weird mass overseer build vs mass phoenix against Zest. Sometimes you just choose the wrong approach and a bit of bad luck and you get crushed. Rogue is still good guys lol.

Good effort despite the damage

I think Maru vs TY in the final. That should be awesome.

Alright Leenock, let's not lose 48 drones, and you might be ok this game!

Why they didn't postpone this match if Leenock just got out of hospital?
