To expand, I basically hit a retractable bollard as it came up after a bus passed (I was following the bus). I don't know exactly what happened but I was catapulted forward - so I imagine some part of the bike hit the bollard coming up and hence I went forward.
Luckily I didn't flip, just the bike completely tumbled forward, the right handle bar got bent in (drop down bars), and I mildly injured both wrists, right pinky, left ankle, right knee + theigh. It's nothing major but it's bloody annoying considering it happened 4 days before our races start.
It was rather weird, I had no idea what the fuck had happened, and my brain was frozen for a good number of seconds later coping with the pain and making sure I'm still okay and shit. Some dude helped me up since I was kinda pinned in by my bike or something, I don't even know what kind of position I was in (unnutral for sure). It was somewhat humorous when two other guys from our crew who were following me came up and were like "dude wtf man what happened" haha.
Bollards, for those of you unfamiliar, are these annoying buggers.
oh, bad luck there, i cant remeber when was the last time i crashed from my bike, but ive had more than my share of close calls since my brakes dont really work that good
i was watching some show on discovery and they were doing tests on what the newest kind of these bollards can hold, as to create better safety measures against suicide carbombs etc
I wish I had pics but it was so sick, they had big-ass trucks just completely fucking pulverize because they drove into one little pole
I have yet to crash on my roadbike, but I have had a few crashes om mtb and one on asphalt that gave me a concussion and some kind of hand injury.
And in the 80s while skateboarding I got my wheel in a hole where a bollard was sopposed to be and faceplanted pretty bad. Still got a little crack in one of my front teeth from that.
