I love it. I need to buy a new camera, but I'm trying to get a new laptop first. :/ Hopefully by the time I can buy it the price on D80s will drop.

That one seems to be one of the most successful, though it is not at the top of my personal preferences. I got the Canon Digital Rebel XTi(in the States), aka Canon EOS 400 D. The quality difference between it and the D80 is fairly low (the Rebel XTi is cheaper ), while the price difference is noticeable (I read a report in a professional Photography magazine, also I understood from it that the Nikon D40x, as well as the D40 aren't superior technically speaking than the 400 D. Only the D80 is, but just slightly) Good luck in your quest for the D80, but if you find yourself in financial distress, considering the Canon alternative would not really be that far-fetched Is photography a hobby for you? (Or at least a developing hobby) If so, do you have some photos of your own creation? I would love to see them cheers

It's hands-down one of the best DSLRs that I've bought and I've found that I shoot with it more often than any other camera I use. Once you master it (relatively simple) it can unleash some great results. (I don't care for the D80. My Dad owns one and I tried to use it, but I found the controls way too complicated. Controlling basic things like shutter speed and aperture was confusing. A camera should never be confusing; it should be intuitive!).

Question for you, do you go out with a pre-established idea of what you are looking for, or do you just take it as it comes?
