Recently I've started wandering around my hometown, the main idea being a want to immortalize a darker look of it
Mures River bank, "far"
-------------------------
"there"
-------------------------
"misery"
You just stood there screaming Fearing no one was listening to you They say the empty can rattles the most The sound of your voice must soothe you Hearing only what you want to hear And knowing only what you've heard You you're smothered in tragedy You're out to save the world
These times are sent to try mens souls But somethings wrong with all you see You, you'll take it on all yourself Remember, misery loves company
-------------------------
"break"
-------------------------
"far,2"
There was a fresh breeze Strange peace Tranquility And there was the sun
It was even able to warm me up No longer an enemy The sight passed me by, as pictures running Playing to a sweet roundabout
Then the might of a boat The art in its misery Its baroque shams Its gone inlays
Its arcane ornaments Its lone gaze Its ancient memories Its wars lost
Splendid As Venice has never been As the moon won't ever be Just like the sea
--------------------------
"urban speed"
every once in a while, take a brief moment, to stop and contemplate
-------------------------
"distances"
-------------------------
"feeble"
Lost in the storming of the north someone warm up his own beloved a feeble flower of the north
Two frozen hearts sleep in the dust bonded by time in tears and rust in the darkest hall of winter lust
=============================== ================================ ==================================
and yours truly
hope my psychopath gaze will scare the crap out of you

+ Show Spoiler + I love it. I need to buy a new camera, but I'm trying to get a new laptop first. :/ Hopefully by the time I can buy it the price on D80s will drop.

That one seems to be one of the most successful, though it is not at the top of my personal preferences.
I got the Canon Digital Rebel XTi(in the States), aka Canon EOS 400 D. The quality difference between it and the D80 is fairly low (the Rebel XTi is cheaper ), while the price difference is noticeable (I read a report in a professional Photography magazine, also I understood from it that the Nikon D40x, as well as the D40 aren't superior technically speaking than the 400 D. Only the D80 is, but just slightly)
Good luck in your quest for the D80, but if you find yourself in financial distress, considering the Canon alternative would not really be that far-fetched
Is photography a hobby for you? (Or at least a developing hobby) If so, do you have some photos of your own creation? I would love to see them
cheers

You have great talent in both - taking photos and writing. My favorites are "far" and "distances". I really love those kind of photos.. keep them coming.
best regards Silvano

Well, I'd probably reshoot it with some technical/composition changes, but I just really love the concept and you've got great scenery wherever you are.

I shoot with a EOS 400D as well. It's hands-down one of the best DSLRs that I've bought and I've found that I shoot with it more often than any other camera I use.
Once you master it (relatively simple) it can unleash some great results.
(I don't care for the D80. My Dad owns one and I tried to use it, but I found the controls way too complicated. Controlling basic things like shutter speed and aperture was confusing. A camera should never be confusing; it should be intuitive!).

Those are great, I bought a DSLR in hopes of achieving those results one day, unfortunately with my work and life schedule the only time I have taken the camera out of its bag has been the day I bought it... I plan to get my moneys worth out of it on my holidays though.
Question for you, do you go out with a pre-established idea of what you are looking for, or do you just take it as it comes?

I really enjoyed the ragged framing the stones provided in "there". That was quite strikingly well done.
You're a good photographer.
