I'll put you in as player for now, seeing as we don't exactly have too many players. Sson Sometimes a town player will want to learn why CHUPAZI is a (in)effective thing I do, and how I do it. If such a player wants, cool, except that /out coaching as QT is hard for me to view. quicktopic.com

I've just read the general guide, but things are still confusing. I guess in order to really understand the game I gotta participate for once. So, is it a balanced game? Do the mafia have a 50% win record? A Vigilant setup will speed up the game, right? More on the rules: so if a Detective has results on 3 players for example, they may not post it in this thread? Or does it not matter because it is not guaranteed that people will believe him?

More on the rules: so if a Detective has results on 3 players for example, they may not post it in this thread? Or does it not matter because it is not guaranteed that people will believe him? Vigilante's cause the game to be more "swingy" in that they can make or break an advantage very quickly. The game is balanced in terms of power roles, but, since a great deal of the game relies on the players rather than the mechanics it's hard to achieve a balanced win rate That being said I have no idea what the winrates are for town/mafia. A detective (or any investigative role) can claim his checks in thread. The only thing in this vein that is not allowed is to post a screenshot of any pms you get. Comparing things like the time stamp on your role pm or other out-of-game details is also heavily discouraged. There are no rules against claiming roles or checks, regardless of whether they are true.

To expand on this a bit: Different hosts may have slightly different rules on whether you can directly quote anything from outside the thread. My line is that nothing from outside the thread may be directly quoted. This also implies that things like comparing PM timestamps or formatting are disallowed. You may not ask things like "was your role PM colored green?". I'll add this to the FAQ.

I'll take this opportunity to play with some of the new players and share my wisdom in-thread! of course if more room is needed for a newbie the have priority. if you have any more questions about newbie games or basic rules, Iet me know and I'll be glad to answer them. Don't be shy, we were all newbs once

Is a minimalistic game possible, where everyone is silent except for daily activities of voting and nightly activities of dispatching and other non-verbal functions? Assuming a yes, would such a game not favor the mafia, as no information is baited out from them through any sort of interaction whatsoever?
