Still up in the air about who to main, though. I memorized most of the special attacks with with May (hitting people with whales is too much fun!), but I still dont know how to combo all that well yet.
Any suggestions? We are playing on a ps2 (and will never be playing on anything else) if that makes a difference. Also, I am more of a defensive oriented player.
Edit: Oh, and on a side note, I am going to a SSBM tournament tomorrow hosted by my school I'm going to main Ice Climbers/second Sheik and expect to get in the top 3, so it should be pretty fun ^^
i don't know if there's any real defensive characters, with maybe the exception of potemkin who is awesome!! if you like spacing/zoning play axl or venom

Try Bacon or Pot.
Ya Bacon's good, but I don't really like the smell of Pot.
T-minus 9 hours until the LAN starts. I'm going to try and record at least the finals match with my cool new camera. I can upload it here if you guys want ^^

My camera battery was dead, so I was unable to record anything I have a few things on my cellphone, but the lights were off and it had trouble focusing.
I ended up taking third, but in the friendlies afterwards, I went undefeated for the rest of the night. I always get so nervous and choke in the tournaments, haha. On the plus side, though, I was invited along with the other top players to come to a much larger tournament next weekend for $$$$ prizes.
Congrats on placing in Mario Kart 64 and SSBM, Zapling .
I was going to check out some DOA4 (despite hearing so many people decry it ), but then realized you guys didn't link to any actual games =/. I checked out that one person's channel, but a bunch of the videos didn't have (the game's) sound T_T.
Many new AHF matches have gone up on Youtube recently. Here are two of the best, imo.
AHF - はげ (Bolt Kira), Ass (Wind, Poison Lilica) VS ヤシ村 (Fire Mei-Fang), Hafun (Love Konoha)
Ass and Hafun are quickly becoming two of my favourite players to watch. They play very offensively and their matches are usually pretty nuts .
In this 2on2, the two 1st-players and the two 2nd-players face each other, then if the score is tied, the two winners face each other. The first match was meh imo, so if you want to skip past it, Ass vs Hafun starts at 2:54.
By the way, if you're not a fan of Mei-Fang's long combos (I know I'm not ), it's nice to know that in Arcana Heart 2, the combos are a lot shorter (so far) and the initial damage is higher, so long combos are no longer needed to deal high damage, if any long combos exist at all.
Two comeback rounds plus a beastly Heart player. The format of this 2on2 is different: here the winner of the first match goes on to play the 2nd player on the other team.
Note: the Plant Arcana has an unblockable setup. The seeds on the ground will attack once stepped-on. This is a low attack, so if the player gets hit by a jumping attack at the same time, they won't be able to block both attacks.
Note 2: the Earth/Stone Arcana gives your chargeable C moves "super-armour", where you can't be hit out of the move (kind of like The Hulk in Marvel games). In addition, recall that these chargeable moves are also air-unblockable, and fully-unblockable if fully-charged. The only safe ways to avoid being hit are to either throw them out of the move, or do 4HC (backwards homing cancel) right before a fully-charged C move hits you, since 4HC gives you brief invincibility.
ROFL, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen in an Arcana Heart match! Watch from 2:21 in this vid:
In addition, I was trying to translate/transliterate some Japanese players' names, and I came across a site with various AHF players' pictures: http://df2.c-mix.jp/arcana/player.html
Here is White's picture:
Feeling turned on? Then you'll definitely want to see Henvoke's picture in the spoiler tag below...
Wobbles the Phoenix Game: SSBM Player: Ice Climbers Brief Bio: Wobbles the Phoenix, also known as Honorbound, is an American smasher known for playing the Ice Climbers. He has become infamous for his use of the Grab > Jab > F-tilt infinite combo that effectively pushed him within the top 10 finalists in his debut major tournament, NCT2. He recently placed first at Evo South 2007.
Wobbles' claim to fame also sparked a series of discussions concerning whether or not the Ice Climbers f-tilt infinite should be banned in competitive play. The Smash Back Room recently decided that the infinite should go unbanned in tournaments. The technique was then named the wobble.
Here is just a solid match vs Melee (fox) showing his desynch prowess: + Show Spoiler +
Here showcases his technique 'wobbling' against marth legend, Ken (he was widely regarded as the best smasher for a while). It happens around the 2:00 mark, the 2:25 mark, and the 2:50 mark. + Show Spoiler +
Whether you agree with his methods or not, there is no denying he is definitely one of the top IC players around today.

Someone needs to read Sirlin's "playing to win" again lol.
Meh, I think the term you're looking for is "very annoying", not cheap. but I guess to each his own, at least you think it isn't unfair.
Cheap has always been assosciated with scrubs who use it as an excuse to not get better and by bad players to uphold their "honor" against better players.
I think it's probably a matter of people not being used to ice climbers. It's how chillin went on a rampage with them.
I think Ken played quite sloppily (for him) in the end of that match. The rule is keep the ice climbers on the tip marth's weapon (...) and you deserve to get infinite'd if you land in front of them 3 times in a row :O. Got any more vids of this guy?
I think it's the same as that japanese smasher who all the americans got beaten by because he used link in an unorthodox way?

if those things don't count as "cheap" tactics then I don't know what would
Considering how much easier it is to wobble compared to Magneto's ROM infinite as well as how game affecting it is, I'd say it's pretty broken.
Also, has anyone checked out Ramza's tutorial for Urien? Always wanted to play Urien, but charge partitioning/buffering and all that stuff was always a turn off.
