It has been reported by several sources I read that many people in the countries where this ebola infection was first detected still trust their traditional beliefs more than western medicine (if they accept ebola as a disease at all, the belief tha it's a curse instead was reported to be popular). Especially keeping people in hospitals/isolation goes against the local principle that sick people should be treated at home with their families. So I guess those people in the picture feel they are doing the best for the infected. I'm sorry if people feel I'm spreading prejudices, but I was shocked myself when I heard this first. If the picture is supposed to point out something else, feel free to correct me. | ||
