Who is the best Akuma? Yuki Otoko? Who else is a good Gouki player?
Where can I find some decent training videos or practical combo videos of Akuma/Gouki? When I search on youtube for his shit its all 100 hit impossible combos in practice mode or whatever. I would like to see how he is used versus different characters, various strategies that people use etc.
I want to see some shit I can actually use against players. and what is the buttons for the raging demon lp,lp,>,>,hk,mk,hk or something?
oh yea, another question, Why does everyone use the Hadou special? I can understand its usable in the air so it gives you more options to use it, but does it do more damage or something than the other ones?
Also I know there are many theories about Q and his story/history etc. But to me he seems like a ghost. He wears a Fedora hat, a trenchcoat, slacks, and dress shoes. Seems like a guy from the 50s. When he taunts he does this "scare you" arms up thing like a ghost would do. He moves around all wind/wispy like a ghost as well. His clothes just like float or flow up and crap outta no where. His skin is white and his eyes glow through the mask. He lurks in the shadows.
Gouki players? Look for Match, Juninn, Yukiotoko, Uraken. Gouki is a very "finesse" character, and I personally think he's very hard to play. His hyakki-shuu mix ups are very strong if you can execute correctly
Don't copy Jiro, although his style has the most "flair"
I heard somewhere that Q is this retired cop-like character (from his ending in 3s).
I would say the best Akuma is between Match and Jiro, however Yukiotoko did OCV Match's team. Overall I still like Match the best. Very solid and safe all around player. He can rush you down like crazy or play defensive and you'll never get in against his zoning. Jiro is more flashy and risky, high risk/high reward kinda player.
I would say SA1 is used more (over SA2) because it's much more versatile. It's safe (good for chip damage) and easy to land (although SA2 has basically the same hit confirms). It does less damage but I think the "safeness" warrants it more use. You can use SA2 and get the same results as SA1 I think.

You know what? I've never noticed this before, but Ken's and Ryu's normals, even the ones that look the same, often have slightly different frame data, e.g. taking 1 or 2 more/less frames to start up.
Ken Ryu (oddly, Google isn't translating the entire page anymore: it stops halfway o_O)
According to that data, you can cancel and super-cancel Ryu's standing far mp!! (Ken has to link into his super from far mp: he can't cancel it). I'm going to have to try that later O.o .

I usually learn strategies and tricks from watching videos. And I used to use GameFAQs as a guide for how to do each move. You can also try Shoryuken.com's Third Strike Forums: they have strategies for most of the characters, I think.
For vids, just search Youtube for "3s" plus the names of those gosus Haji mentioned . To get Match's videos, though, you'll probably have to add "gouki" or "akuma" .
I think they always use the Hadou special because it's more versatile. It's actually his least-damaging super:
SA2 and SA3 have invincibility at the start, too, whereas he can get hit out of his SA1.
But you can use it as an anti-air for jump-ins, or reset your opponent with a jab then hit him while he's still in the air with the super, or chip them to death like Haji mentioned. And I guess it also has better range than his SA2 or SA3, so you can combo into it without having to worry about being close enough.
Im not really sure about the balance in newer vers. I was never really good enough to give an indept analysis anyways heh.
I guess you can say its as balanced as fighting games can get. Eddie was like ridiculously overpowered compared to other chars in previous versions. From what little I saw from the games they played just now, they beefed up the other chars to even out the field a little.
ah so they nerfed Ky. I read for Slash that he was such bullshit and overpowered.
looks like ogawa's team won. How surprising --;; such a beast.

"demon flip , kick in, LKx2, LK-hurricane kick, shoryu cancel to SA1(hadou special)."
I don't think you should use SA1 in that situation; the # of attacks in front of it means that the additional dmg you can get is minimal (unless you have a reason to use that 1 bar, such as a round 3 finisher or you really want to avoid them being able to QS). Just finish with the shoryu and press him at the getup.
I think the most useful SA1 uses are low mk (confirm - mad hard though) -> SA low mp (confirm) -> SA low lkx2 (confirm)-> SA low lk low lp low lk (confirm)-> SA
can you do standing far mp -> SA with gouki? It might be no-cancel though.
also I don't know the specifics, but with SA1 you can get it to hit while they're in the air state after certain GO sequences (they can still parry), which you can follow with jumping in yourself as well. The way pple usually deal with it is to parry the first hit (i think this has most of the dmg) then get hit by the rest of SA1 to avoid the goiki physical attack to follow.
ky is interesting ..everyone thought in slash that he's so overpowered, brutal etc. but ky didn't really win tournaments.. IMO the basic character design is responsible for that, ky is predictable. when you make his damage better, it doesn't count much when ky's opponents block all his mix-up
could you tell about makoto in 3s ? I'm interested in her.. she has nice specials in the vids..
and.. what can Urien's special do, when he makes a portal or somethign......

He's slightly better than Sol. That's.. about all he has going for him.
