To answer your question, you can pretty much forget everything in the first post.

To play 3s nowadays, just download GGPO and put:
sfiii3.zip
and
sfiii3n.zip
in the ggpo roms folder. You can probably find both via google. You can still play offline as well with ggpo if that's a concern.

Bump.
I'm kinda noob ( playing with keyboard lol ) and i just have a lot of troubles to beat the game.

I'm playing with Ken because it seems that he is the easiest and best character to use for a beginner ( and he is the only one i'm able to do some "techniques" with lol ).

I don't have a lot of trouble to beat most of the characters ( except Akuma :o ), the sub boss ( Urien ) is REALLY easy.

But ... Gill omg... i'm clueless. He has a bigger range than Ken, his three ultras(??) are too strong ( regen imba ). Even his basics punch and kicks hurt a lot.
So i need tips to beat him.
Also if you guys can tell me a good site with infos / strats etc ... for noobs it could help me a lot :p

Boblion, you can do certain moves/combos over and over to fuck him up, just try to figure out what those are. And 2ndly, His 2 damage specials are just beastly (just take it like a man), But for his revive ultra, there is usually a way or two to stop it while he is refilling with proper timing to avoid the pushing it does. (like akuma for example can dive kick into him or tatsu?) I dunno maybe check youtube or google?

for your question:
stop hurricane kicking it sucks
stop throwing regular fireballs it sucks. sometimes when you're at mid range throw ex ones but not often
get at the range where you're at max range / just outside of max range of ken's c.mk and then start c.mking over and over where the tip of ken's foot will just barely miss gill's ankle. gill will just keep doing moves and either they will miss or he will get hit... it's not perfect but he never really figures anything
when he gets closer either find an opportunity to jump back/back up or just back up or try c.mp
when he does any of his supers, block.. you're probably fucked anyway
if he does the reincarnation hit him as soon as possible so his health doesn't go back up all the way (ex fireball helps here but he will push it back)

this is just what i figured out in 5 minutes because i was stuck in at a place away from home with nothing to do except go try and beat gill and i figured that out pretty fast

the computer on most fighting games isn't worth playing since they just don't learn and they can get beat by patterns like this that they don't 'understand'

Ok i got him with jump heavy kick into crouch heavy kick -> back and repeat.
Lame but it works.
