And i am still looking for 1-2 additional players for our Call of Cthulhu campaign "Masks of Nyarlathotep". A friend of yours has been savagely murdered by some sort of strange Cult, about which little is known. You are trying to find out more. There are hints of a monstrous worldwide conspiracy being involved in some way. Information about the Carlyle expedition that got slaughtered in Kenya 5 years ago appears to be somehow involved.
Call of Cthulhu is a horror roleplaying game set in Lovecrafts 1920s. It is scary. It is deadly. Your characters will almost certainly die or go insane. Don't expect a fair chance to beat everything you see. If you deal with horrors beyond human imagination, just looking at which drives you insane, a frail human can rarely hope to best them in a fair fight. It is a game about investigation, and dealing with the indescribable and thoroughly alien abominations which surround our frail sphere of existence.
We will next be playing next weekend, probably on saturday or sunday 16:00 CEST.
Time available- Practically any time, very flexible
Experience- None (other than watching rollplay :D)
Additional Information- I'm an Australian looking to get into roleplaying games, no preference at all for system, so if you need a player to fill a space contact me with a tl pm or message me over skype. I'm comfortable fitting into a European or American time slot as well. Some small amount of patience may be required as I am a beginner!
So we just finished playing the Goblin oneshot today. I think a lot of fun was had all around. Highlights included us dismembering a giant spider to fashion a helmet for our warrior out of its head and me failing a DC5 check to climb a ladder like 5 times in a row.^_^

Don't forget you blew yourself up a couple times ^^. Overall it was pretty fun. DMing was challenging, you have to keep track of alot of stuff but fun. Time flew by, we played a bit overtime. We played the Paizo Oneshot Adventure "We be Goblins!", it's free for those who want to try it out.
Yeah, true, stuff was funny. A bit too combat heavy for my tastes, but that was to be expected. I still had a good time. I would have been a bit more goblinish, but PvP stuff generally doesn't end well with beginner groups. More stuff to "accidentally" set on fire would have been cool, we had so many fireworks and then we were always in a wet swamp, that is so much lost potential.
But overall, you did a really good job. We all had a lot of fun, and ultimately that is all that counts.
It also made me reread the whole goblins comic.
Skypatrol, i'd suggest you just buy some sort of 40k core rulebook (depending on which setting you want to play, Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, Death Watch or Only War.), and getting ready to DM yourself. It is a lot easier to find players then it is to find dms, especially if you want to play something specific. Considering we already have a limited pool of players here, i doubt that will be very successful. As an alternative, you might want to look for a group in the LFG on roll20, though those guys are obviously not as cool as we TL people.
when we did the goblin thing it sure ended with a big boom :>
also while it is almost only combat after the start i think playing goblins always gives some nice opportunity to RP some funstuff. the cobmat was really whacky and chaotic for us unlike our normal campaign where we atleast try to be really strategic and careful (and then shoot windows and zerg/teleport in)

Yeah, true, we had "interesting" tactics too. I distinctly remember a scene where i was running around a mast being chased by a dog, and at least 2 other goblins were in turn chasing that dog. I absolutely set that scene to Benny Hill in my mind. Sadly our Alchemist who found a crossbow was too pussy to try to launch a bomb with it. And i am still sad that my potion of spider climbing was a potion that allowed me to climb like a spider, not one that allowed me to climb spiders
And those traitors to goblinkind didn't want to at least test the fireworks we found on the ship
I am currently working on several smaller adventures to GM. Each only taking 1 to 2 (maybe 3) sessions to play, so if you like to try Pathfinder, keep an eye on this thread

Ha, we tested them alright, one of the sentries at village on our way back wanted to see a sampling so I gave them one, and thus me and the goblin next to me went out in a true goblin way, with a big bang.

Update 31/08/2013: One of our players has had to pull out. If anyone wants to join us let me know, we're in our 3rd session now so it should be fairly easy to incorporate into the group. We have a rogue a mage and a fighter, so the party will need some sort of healer class.
Player or DM: DM TL-ID: Ren91 Skype: richard8701
Time available (GMT+1): Sessions will be on a Sunday at 6:00 gmt+1 lasting between 3 and 4 hours.
What resources will you be using?: We'll most likely be using skype for voip, Roll20 for the maps and as a dice roller. I've started using myth weaver as BK suggested and it seems like a damn awesome way to keep character sheets up to date.
Amount of players wanted: We're currently at 4/4
Feel free to PM me on tl or message me on Skype if you're interested,
Just wanna bring attention to the update. We need a fourth and if we can get it done today you can join us tomorrow for a session if not then no worries.

we did do a oneshot this week cause one of our guys couldnt play this week. was fun, the world is majorly fucked up but seemed really interesting. the system... a very different take and i think i prefer more traditional ones. that you basicly spend your "hp" to do stuff can end up in strange situation (you spend 3 int for higher chance to avoid 3 int dmg, wtf?)

Well just like in DnD the player is supposed to use some basic math and decide when it is worth using points to improve his chance of not losing points

yeah but you dont know before. mechanics that can just put you into a lose/lose situation just seem weird. also "health" as resource for evrything is not so much for me. as said it was a lvl1 oneshot so maybe stuff changes later but still i prefer more traditional systems.
