That, my friend, is your opinion. In my opinion, League is pretty much the single most boring thing on the entire planet that someone can watch. However I have to then realize that a lot of people enjoy watching it. While I don't understand their reasons for enjoying it, they do. I, and a huge number of people, enjoy watching StarCraft. You don't. You can't just declare that StarCraft 2 isn't fun to watch just because you don't enjoy it.
Also this BW shit is getting really old. Great, we never got super pros in anime space suits and a gigantic stadium filled to overflowing with fangirls waiting to battle to the death for 5 seconds of aforementioned super pros' time. StarCraft 2 is a fine game. There are people who still insist that Third Strike is a better game than SF4 as well, doesn't mean that's actually the case.

not in na which is the market which mlg is most interested in.and flying a 5 man team form europe and china to na is expensive as hell.not even many pro lol teams did than.and teamliquid being th eonly na team at ti3 doesnt help mlgs cause at all.if sundance thinks he can get 100k finals on stream with teanliquid vs eg in dota2 plus the packed houses he saw with sc2 he is out of his mind

Yeah, I remember Axeltoss saying at the end of Anaheim that their next SC2 event was going to be in November in Orlando. Not a huge shock. MLG is not running SC2 because its too costly to make a production that the scene actually wants. Even with community streams and an open bracket.

TotalBiscuit meant well but his tweets really just stirred up the beesnest. =/ "If there isn't a SC2 at this event, the scene is DEAD and I retire!"
Sundance should not have even mentioned it on Twitter. He should have created a website and conspicuously left out SC2 and made a small press release saying a few words about how the current marketplace did not justify a SC2 event in Columbus but please stay tuned for future events.
That would have been a drama free way. You just can't run a professional business on Twitter. Just stahp.
Honestly, speaking from my heart, I have been watching 1.5 years and can barely keep my attention on the screen. No matter how you dress it up, SC2 is just becoming boring to me. If I keep a stream on its usually like radio, I read TL or news while its on in the background.
When its about the people I love like Grubby, I love the game again. That to me is why I watch SC2 to see the people who grow up with me succeed. That was one of my favorite moments seeing Grubby's face after winning.
I don't care about "high-level" games anymore, they usually just disappoint. We get the best Koreans in the world, they usually just cheese each other for 3 of 5 games. Maybe 4 of 5. I stayed up to watch Innovation vs. Maru. I got 3 straight cheeses. Don't feel like another 4AM bender just for that again. I just feel like for the most part I have seen it all now.
When Stephano retired it felt like a metaphor for the game and the foreigner scene. We love it but its becoming less passionate and washed up, it can still show us great plays but they are becoming few and far between and HoTS killed it.
I felt like this week was the week when SC2 retired from the US scene.
The Twitter tells me things I don't want to hear! Make it stop!!!

No, you shouldn't, unless you just want to bitch for the sake of it. You get what you ask for. You want early information, so you get it. People certainly should get vocal if they want to see SC2 at MLG Columbus. This I agree with 100%. If you want to see SC2 there, let them know. But dont' whine because they told people in advance that is won't be at this time.
I have just stopped following them. I would prefer MLG keep SC2, but if they don't want my viewership and sub I can do without them. Plenty of SC2 going on.
EDIT: To clarify, I would happily return to watching them and pay for HQ tickets should they return to SC2. I like MLG, so it isn't a vindictive thing. Just saying there is plenty of alternatives.

mlg not having sc2...does that mean they'll be streaming eagles?

Here's a quick, gut-based opinion of mine, that hasn't been thought out very thoroughly yet (so please tell me why I'm wrong): IF WCS can be "fixed" (whatever that means), I'd prefer having that style of tournament on 3 continents going semi regularly than MLG. MLG, read any LR thread, is not that great of a tournament.
Sure, SC2 owes MLG a lot from publicity and stuff, but their live events are only good because of the names (players/casters) they're able to pull in, but the production is glitchy and often half baked... in a word, uninspired. Their website summarizes their entire nature as a production company.
So while I'm not glad the sky is falling for SC2, and I'm not glad MLG is dropping SC2, I'm not gonna miss it that much, to be honest.

sc2 gave mlg a lot of publicity.back in 2010,2011,2012 there were only 2 major esports who brought in numbers and brought crowds at lan events the size of mlg in the na:lol and sc2,without these mlg would not have existed.even now sc2 as a lan event is more popular than cod and dota2 in na.dunno what sundance is thinking but at the end of the day its his choice.i will really pay attention to the columbus viewership numbers and compare them to how it was when sc2 was on.

More on topic, it's sad to see a US league taking a (hopefully small) step away from SC2 - but if it has to be anyone, MLG is fine.

Oh Sundance.
I guess MLG has embraced the 'pay us to show your games' business model.

Well, I always thought that the first ppl to collapse in the NA-SC2ESPORTS scene would be NASL and then IPL. But I was kinda surprised IPL came first cause I thought they had a bigger and thicker pockets standing behind them. As for NASL, well, I dunno.
Also, I think tasteless is looking for you.

I don't see... Why they'd cut it.
There has to be something else planned.
|
is this because of NASL taking over WCS AM?

looking at sundace twitter right now.they are promoting a game known as infinity crysis which is a rip off of some lol map but instead of regular heroes they use batman, superman and joker.heheheh #mlgesports

Nope.
They now make money by going to developers and saying "if you pay us $XXX, we'll pretend your game is competitive."

Domestic image damage. I don't know if something like this exists, but... mlg is good at it.
