I'm entitled to my opinions, sorry if they don't make you happy. Valve and TI3 are blowing Blizz, WCS and SC2 out of the water and then there's still the behemoth Riot/LoL. The truth is SC2 hasn't been the flagship eSports title for a while and HotS did little to remedy that. I'm sure someone's gonna say it's not a competition between games, which is partially true, but then no one should be surprised that certain games just don't make the cut anymore.

Replying to pro-gamers with insults and attempts to belittle them and their achievement should be bannable because that is the exact sort of behaviour that makes pro-gamers post less here at TL. In other words, it reduces one of the most appealing things about the entire website, interaction with the pros. Since when is this disrespect tolerated? Master of Puppets is quite correct to call out these clowns who are giving Theognis shit. He said he quit just in time so technically hes not a pro anymore.

As long as the Korean scene exists I am more than ecstatic, as I prefer watching the best players, but I'm a little sad for the fans that enjoyed the foreign scene.

Even if I'm the only person playing Starcraft vs. an AI opponent, I will have fun. Because it's my favourite game. I don't give a shit about "ESPORTS", "MLG" and other acronyms. If someone streams good games by good players, fine. I might watch them and I might even rant on internet forums. It's cool to have a scene, and it's even cooler to have progamers who can actually make money with SC2. But we're not basketball, and most likely we never will be. So please excuse me, but fuck drama. I'm tired of it. Oh no, our game is dying. Apparently, there are more than 300000 people playing at least one game per season. Looks very dead to me. The last MLG events were lackluster, anyway. It's not a big loss, especially when you start thinking about ways to actually develop a small (yet healthy) scene in NA. Maybe the Red Bull thing is a start to that.

Which would benefit the viewers all around I think. I think both you dcsoda and Tyrian are missing a key point here. MLG is dropping SC2. They are doing this for a reason. Money. If they could make money by including SC2 in MLG they would. The fact that they are not having SC2 is a clear signal that MLG don't think it is worthwhile financially to have SC2 at their tournament. It is surely the case that MLG have calculated that having another game instead of SC2 would be more profitable. If this is the case, then any up and coming tournament organiser would also draw the same conclusion - having another game would be more profitable than SC2. Such a situation does not bode well for the future of SC2 tournaments in NA. Tournaments are run to make money, if they don't they do not continue.

Let me know when any of you can do better. Most of us do way better in the areas we are professionals in. It's rather obvious, we don't need to leave our occupations and search for something else to do.

While I know the scene is rather saturated, and I know we're not MLG's flagship game anymore, and WCS has had some really adverse effects in a couple of ways, I had hoped to be able to get to a LAN at some point soon. Thanks for all the work you've put into our scene, MLG, I hope you guys can come back soon. <3

Yea well imo, people should respect everyone who is a member of the community here and that shouldn't be a right just towards pro's. you might think its ok to only respect pros and shit on everyone else but thats not the right way to go imo.

I remember their pathetic rule (do not know if it is still used) that says that everyone who hosts a tournament with more that 5k or something in prize money has to pay a fee. Basically they ask too much recognition and, are too costly and want to have a finger in every corner of the competitive sc2 scene. The price of sc2 is too high and that certainly doesn't help in bringing new players to the game. If they don't change it soon they won't be able to compete with LoL and Dota2.

Think that's too late already anyways. We are just of a way smaller size than those games it seems.
