Mainly because they said it "may" happen, but not about how they're "trying to get it to happen". Because if they were, they'd be giving details and updates as to how the process is going.

This might not say much about sc2 dying as much as it says about mlgs business practices.If i had a company and I would drop my second best selling product without no immediate replacement I would be called a very bad businessman.
