The Game
+ Show Spoiler +
The beginning of the game is nothing short of original, with both players not scouting each other at all, making 9 pylon, 13 gateway, and so on. I find it ironic that some around-about cheeses (such as a proxy... ish stargate) often are less often detected at higher levels because people start to not send probe scout into the enemy base. Johnson's job has gotten a lot easier, not having to travel long distances every time he has work to do.
It gives me more time to enjoy life with my family. Until I'm sent on a suicide scout, you know.
My opponent goes for a little bit of faster gas than me. He also cancels his second gateway at a really awkward time, when it was nearly completed... I have no idea what this might have been for. Maybe he intended to 3-stalker but just changed his mind. Later this cancel was followed up with a robo.
Emily goes in for her mandatory scout. Since I had been up against so many of them, I naturally assumed at the gateway+robo = fast expand... I was pretty dissapointed later on to see that it was actually just a 3gate robo. 3gate robo seems like a pretty damn good counter to blink stalker allins.
Whoops, my bad. It's K, it'll only cost us the game!
My all-in actually ends up working nearly spot-on for it's timing, moving in at 7:40. Were my enemy going for a fast expand, I daresay that I would have had the firepower to break through. However, he was just turtlin' up.
Now, just a little something that I notice now that I've thoroughly watched this game in order to get dem nice pics... I really am not one to be fast to judge and I don't want to do so.... but I think that this guy was using some sort of hack. There are several instances in which I feel like there's something wrong (especially that awkwardly timed gateway cancel). He NEVER scouted me what so ever, yet he had his units cowering inside of his base as my all-in drew near. He also sent his observer on a straight path to his ramp... every single building after his first 2 pylons were behind his mineral line, as if to prevent getting poked off (that's not as suspicious though)... if he was hacking, it seems like it was some sort of production hack, since he didn't seem to have complete vision of my army at all times (hence why he sent his observer to the attack path, despite not having scouted anything).
Anyways as for the attack, I wait for a while as Photon overcharge wears off, and afterwards I get my shiny metal ass handed back to me.
BLINK MICRO BLINK MICRO BLINK MICRO Oh wait he has immortals.
Afterwards he politely cleans up all of my proxy pylons and moves in towards my base. Some more oddities arise here; first off, he picked off all of my proxy pylons on his way to my base. Not always hax, just because he could be very diligent to get rid of pylons, but if that were the case he would have split more units up and checked more places. Furthermore, as he set his attack rallies, his camera didn't move to the points he was rallying to. It just... stood... still...
I remember seeing something about how some maphacks have a built in system to freeze the player's camera when it looks into the fog of war; I now believe that this is what he was using. The camera freeze is totally unnatural. God this was meant to just be another battle report I didn't mean for this to be discover the hacker...
Nothing suspicious here, captain.
Again, going back into the game! He walked in and killed me.
Bye bye.
I really am not one to jump to conclusions that my opponents hack, I always just assume that I lose because I'm a piece of shit. HOWEVER. I've basically convinced myself that this guy is a hacker, however subtle. This makes the loss feel even more annoying for me, since I only would have lost due to the edge he had of map hacking... asd;lkfjas;dlfkjasd;lfkjasd;fkj.
Conclusion; While writing a battle report, I think I discovered that the guy I faced was a hacker.
Well, either way, I think that it's a good idea for me to change builds. The blink allin strategy just wasn't quite cutting it for me, and I enjoy phoenix play a lot anyways :D. Thanks for reading, if you've got some time give me feedback as to whether that guy actually was a hacker or not, and have a great day! GL HF!
