Korea Telecom-Korea Telecom Freetel Premiere League (yes that is the name expanded out) was as the name suggests, a Premiere League where the best 20 players at the time (by KeSPA ranking) were to duke it out. If you win it all, there was a nice purse of $100,000 - $200,000 (if anyone can give me correct figures, please do).
The first season was broadcasted on both GameTV (now dead I think) and MBCGame. The second season was broadcasted on OnGameNet and MBCGame.
Originally the idea was put up by MBCGame and GameTV to compete with the huge competiton in Starleague. After the first league finished, GameTV was dying, so MBCGame had no choice but to look to it's rival, OnGameNet.
The league was sparked with controversy, since KT-KTF were offering huge sums of prize money, they obviously wanted their MagicN players to play. Thus mediocre players such as Autumn and Odyssay got the nod while good players such as ElkY and Control did not.
What actually happend?
For both seasons, the players were split into two groups, where one group had their games specifically broadcasted on one channel and vice versa. Being the advertising whores KT-KTF are, these were named KT Megapass and KT Bigi/FIMM respectively.
Everyone in the group played eachother once, plus two outsiders from the other group. This meant that 11 games in total for each player would have been played. It was obvious this league was suppose to go on for a whole year or so, like Proleague.
In the end, their would be in-group playoffs, which would branch into in-group finals. The winners of the in-group finals would go on to play in the Grand Final.

So why isn't it done anymore?
No one actually knows why this isn't done anymore. Most likely because:
a) Hectic Schedules now, with Monday and Proleague, Tuesday with Proleague and Survivor League, Wednesday with Proleague and Challenge League, Thursday with MSL, Friday with MSL, Saturday with MSL and Proleague and Sunday with Proleague. There's probably no time to fit KT-KTF in the schedule, unless some other TV company like CJ pick it up (which is highly unlikely).
b) KT-KTF were stingy and thought they payed too much for this competition, and that the level of it wasn't elite.
Plus it was rigged to let KTF players play.
c) Players just simply didn't try, and it became unpopular within the Korean community.
Phew, that's done.
