On a serious note, I agree with what other people have said. Do it because you are passionate about it, not the money. That will usually follow if you are doing it for passion

here's my opinion,
you are right in the chinese and taiwan scene don't get enough attention. But what kind of attention? Global attention?
The Taiwan local scene is quite healthy and kicking alive, they have team league that is more tailor suited to domestic viewers the Chinese scene is just smaller and there is a distinct lack of support from local big companies and sponsors, why would they seek foreign interest when their own domestic market is not developed.
Having a foreign caster casting just isn't needed. If you think you are an necessary asset, then make them know.
|
You don't really offer more than what a Chinese-American can offer. Sorry, dude. Your Chinese is not good enough for casting, and your game knowledge is not good enough for casting. You're "novelty" at best due to your race.
I do think you're making a good choice no longer focusing on casting since you're unlikely to get paid for it, but making a blog throwing a hissy-fit is not really recommended. ;o

I think this is basically just a function of you realizing just now that futility of pursuing a full-blown career in casting. The part where you made your miscue was hoping for an actual job in casting, which unfortunately is just impossible. Try to make a living elsewhere, and relegate just to a hobby. That's all you really can do :x

You know, in the last blog he posted I was actually interested in the backstory to this guy's drama. Now I'm not interested at all.
I don't know whether that's a good or a bad thing.
|
If you read his previous blogs you will see how narcissistic this guy sounds. Not sure if he is like that in real life, but the tone of his blogs are just like that.
|
Every single one of his blogs have been melodramatic "Im so fucking awesome" rubbish, i wake up at 3am and suffer so much, im the dogs bollocks.
As others have said, gtfo. You have a terrible attitude, apparently your not even that skilled at what you do and your in it for the money.
|
Yeah they have been. He also had one where he bitched about his parents, who pay for him to go to college, asking him to come home, and ocmplained about getting mediocre grades but flipped out when people said perhaps you should maybe cut back on waking up at 3 am to cast games hahah

Can somebody lock this? Please / thank you. It's gone from a personal blog to personal attacks.
Closing thoughts:
QuanticHawk, all I have to say to you is good luck with your pro gaming endeavors, and I mean that in a good way. You have been teamless for a while now, even before Quantic shut down. You have made more money off of this than I have, and unfortunately more pro players are without a home.
A blog on TL.net is a blog that revolves around one person and their endeavors with SC2 or DoTA (2). From now on, if you guys want me to post blogs surrounding the Chinese scene, then I will do just that, leaving myself out of it. Treat it like an MLA-Format Essay.
