Your channel views have nothing to do directly with your popularity. You have to build yourself up to have anyone pay you enough to live off casting. You are being payed soon by one of the MOST important chinese SC2 leagues, and even more than that, SC2 isn't big in China, that place is owned by DotA and LoL. You have to accept the market you work in, and stop complaining about people not paying you for commentating as a small time E-Sports caster with a niche strength as a white guy knowing mandarin. I don't mean to harp on you, and I don't want to be rude about this, but this isn't you acting professional. I can't take you seriously if every time you get a set back you decide to quit then rant about it. The point of me making this is just to say basically... "If I'm not getting paid I'm not doing it." This should be done to supplement my current income which is absolutely 0.

If I can do this with my spare time, then i will do this with my spare time, but like I said before, I need some real income. I have established a name. I have other big announcements to make, but I'm telling you that this one big decision that I have made in the form of a youtube video that you see here today will lead to this other big announcement soon enough. EDIT: I'm tired of waking up at 3:00 A.M. and making nothing from it at the same time. I may be likely to make exceptions to what I just said in the near future depending on what events may ask me, what players are playing, and so on and so forth.

I need to build my lol and dota knowledge. I'm not one of those guys who is doing the following: * Signing contracts * Playing commercials for revenue. Also, there was one contact I had established that basically told me I had to learn lol and dota 2 to get a job casting for him full time. I won't reveal who, because this would probably reflect poor on him professionally. In short, I will say this, I know the stable Chinese-speaking markets to eSports venus and markets, and after giving a detailed power point presentation on it, I have not since been consulted further.

K China imo = Dota, not sc2, even though they have awesome tourneys. Maybe if you switched over to Dota casting then maybe you might make money? That's precisely why I'm just now deciding to get in to it. One can call this "an emerging market". iG.Chuan (Chinese DoTA 2 pro) has 2,800 viewers as I type this, and last I checked, his internet was somewhat flimsy. He also uses some (I think) amusing vulgarity in English, Chinese, and other languages... Some people argue that Starcraft 2 failed in China. I argue that if NASL, IPL, MLG, Dreamhack, etc. all opened up Chinese channels, then they could gain a few thousand more viewers at almost any time of day. The NeoTV Star League got 28,000 viewers on the Chinese stream for SC2. I have the hardware, I have a Chinese sc2 account, I have fiber-optic internet, I know all the advertising venues for both China and Taiwan, and this just was not enough. Like I said, I have something that may change the outcome of this in the near future. Expect another update within the next 30 days or when I actually have the news.

you are right in the chinese and taiwan scene don't get enough attention. But what kind of attention? Global attention? The Taiwan local scene is quite healthy and kicking alive, they have team league that is more tailor suited to domestic viewers the Chinese scene is just smaller and there is a distinct lack of support from local big companies and sponsors, why would they seek foreign interest when their own domestic market is not developed. Having a foreign caster casting just isn't needed. If you think you are an necessary asset, then make them know.

I do think you're making a good choice no longer focusing on casting since you're unlikely to get paid for it, but making a blog throwing a hissy-fit is not really recommended. ;o

Closing thoughts: QuanticHawk, all I have to say to you is good luck with your pro gaming endeavors, and I mean that in a good way. You have been teamless for a while now, even before Quantic shut down. You have made more money off of this than I have, and unfortunately more pro players are without a home. A blog on TL.net is a blog that revolves around one person and their endeavors with SC2 or DoTA (2). From now on, if you guys want me to post blogs surrounding the Chinese scene, then I will do just that, leaving myself out of it. Treat it like an MLA-Format Essay.
