The blunt weapon
Let us consider how that's probably missing vol 5 part 1 and 2 and how the series is only about half done atm.
Oh and how Owari no Chronicle randomly busted out a vol that started this whole gigantic blunt weapon thing near the end of the series.
This is a obelisk at work.

Not to mention adorable Sky Raker <3
SAO and AW both wish fulfillments, but the type in SAO pissed me off less than the type in AW. A fatty pig MC is fine. A fatty pic MC with a harem and flying around as cool mecha would almost be fine if the author seems apologetic about it at all. Not the case.
Owari every vol was separated in 2-3 pieces... until vol 7 (last) they released Which was kind of weird considering Vol 2 A, B was released on same day, and only one month before vol 7.
---
The most unrealistic part of both SAO / AW is lack of trap... seriously? We only got one and that was reverse. Though I'm still holding out hope for Aqua Current.

GGO Kirito quantifies as trap I guess, don't think AW managed anything on that count.
Going to be a long wait for vol 6 of Horizon, especially since that'll probably be 3 parts again.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind it. Well, the SAO fanbase is something horrible that should never have existed but that concentration of cheesyness and stupidity that is SAO is something that entertains me quite a bit, actually.
Why do you think the fanbase is horrible? How's SAO cheesy, and stupid?
They cut a lot from the light novel from what I heard. Typical for an anime, rushing the story and stuff. I myself didn't enjoy the mini side arcs as much because they occurred too soon. I'm not the only one that thinks this as well, thank God.
SAO is just a ripoff of .hack series(which is much better).
SAO uses the same theme added with a lot of harem and romance.
It is pretty damn cheesy that literally almost every girl that Kirito meet just fall in love with him. Cliche harem much? That's why the Japanese love it.
SAO was not SAO after Vol 2 of the LN. The premise of the story changed after they left SAO. That killed it for me.
I never understood why SAO is popular.
I guess it's because they have cute characters.
I think it's a matter of timing and first impressions. SAO has the benefit of coming after the second generation of MMOs (WoW, FF11, EVE etc.), and the first story arc of the anime was very well done. A good first impression can carry a series even if it doesn't maintain that quality.

It had a great first episode and ignoring the side stories the first half was more than okay. Then it went downhill.

I thought of Yumekui Merry heavily when I read this.

The Yumekui Merry anime is an atrocity that deviated from an otherwise decent source because JC Staff is retarded.
Shout out to the funniest anime 2011. This is definitely worth a rewatch XD
Fuck, I watched a few episodes "ages ago" and it was awesome - then I forgot about it. Another anime in my back log, lol. Now I just have to figure out what episode I was at >.<
Psycho-Pass had a pretty strong episode this week. Urobuchi sure loves making his characters suffer (how fitting that I enjoy it. Am I evil?).

I think it's cause of all the emotional plot turns they put into the story without thinking about the actual story as a whole. People get absorbed into the small things that are just meant to put the viewers on an emotional roller coaster and cause it happens so frequently they don't really pay attention to the big picture. It's really just a bunch of cliches put together in my opinion. It's kinda like a romance version of typical super popular shonen stuff. In that sense it shouldn't really matter nor should anyone care who likes it, but I think I'll die if I ever hear someone call it a masterpiece.
It's pretty much end of 2012, almost all shows are going on break. Besides we're all dying soon. And as an extra bonus it means no more going around in an endless circle with the SAO discussions which somehow keep coming back.
[01:52:22] <Elem> is it time [01:52:37] <WreakHavoc> ... YES ITS TIME
Indeed, it's time for the oh-so-fun 2012 review. You're not forced to go for all categories but the more the better.
Only rule is no QQ about people being all over F/Z s2 and SAO. None of that bullshit.
