As for the suspension, I fully support it. EG has to protect their brand and their sponsorship. Free speech has nothing to do with it. (FYI to any Americans, Constitutional rights such as free speech are held against the government not against individuals or private entities. I don't know anything about the French legal system so I won't comment on it.)

Who knows man, them French are pretty liberal with the sex. I think this is an excellent point however, the fact that he apologized and took responsibility for it most likely indicates it was a poorly thought out joke/comment.

Idc personally what he did but societal morals are what they are and when its associated to business professionalism is key. Not to mention when stephano won wcs Europe in the interview he said he was the most professional player in starcraft 2.... That was obviously not a true statement.. Apparently you don't respect the morals and norms of other cultures. If the accepted age of consent in a country is 14 years old, then a person, regardless of age and having been given true consent by her, isn't doing anything wrong.

I support Stephano in this and disagree with EG's reaction but this is not a good argument. Stoning someone for apostasy might be legal in Afghanistan or honor killings in rural areas of pakistan but it doesn't mean it's ok. Morality is more than individual arbitratily assigned consent laws that very from country to country. Whether it's legal doesn't mean it's 'right'.

Poll: What do you think actually happened? He actually violated a 14 year old girl in full knowledge of her age (26) other (25) It was consensual and he did not know her age at the time until after. (5) 56 total votes Your vote: What do you think actually happened? (Vote): He actually violated a 14 year old girl in full knowledge of her age This isn't a poll for people that think it is a joke, this is just for the people that think something happened. I'm just interested.

They're reacting to what Stephano said, regardless of what happened.

Stop thinking that US culture == World culture tbh, he may mostly have issues with the US, the most hypocrytical sex culture nation in the world - after the hardcore islamic countries. This issue I have with is the tencendy the US has to try and impose its societal culture to the world. And it isn't new. It started way long ago in times where the English Renaissance spawned the puritans that tried to impose their presumed extremist religious moral standards to Europe and utterly failed to do so before being kicked out to a certain country named New England.

I smell a derail in the works. Incidentally, isn't it a bit presumptuous for you to knock the US' culture of spreading their culture? ;-)

Like it or not, US culture does influence the world. Look at just about every major movie, music hit, and yes SC2. They are American made. By viewing all this media you are influenced whether you realize it or not. And yes, EG is an American company and therefore it was through an American frosted lens that they passed their judgement on Stephano.
