Why not do an open portion on site? It wouldn't really cost you anything and would give players who aren't as well known a chance. The qualifier doesn't really do this since a korean will win it...
a) I'm not organizing this
b) Saying that an open on-site LAN doesn't cost anything is really dumb. You have to provide computers, internet, power, and staffing for 64+ people. That's actually really fucking expensive, lol
Volunteers are staff, and its a college campus, I assume the internet, power, and computers wouldn't be all that difficult.
Someone's spending a lot more time hating on the event than actually reading about its details
Whoops I guess it isn't this time. And no I'm not hating on the event. I enjoyed the last event very much and I'm sure this one will be phenomenal as well. I'm just very disappointed that while last event had a lot of smaller name players mixed in who could try to make a name for themself this one seems to have changed its direction.
There is one player announced for the event, because he won it previously.

Ok I guess it would cost something, but it can't be that much. Volunteers are staff, and its a college campus, I assume the internet, power, and computers wouldn't be all that difficult.
Campus computers =/= gaming rigs. Campus internet =/= smooth starcraft quality internet connection
