Just for fun and the people who think that there is something wrong with Bomber "losing 4:4" to Stephano - did you notice that Bomber also "won 2:2" over viOlet? And the fact that other similar situations did not happen is just one large coincidence?

You make a good point.

Anyway the whining is stupid. Stephano was the pre-tournament favourite, him beating Bomber in a tournament again is hardly a surprise. And the series was very close at 4-4, so hardly suggestive of imbalance. Bomber raised his game and made the Finals very tight.

Stephano lost to a Terran, Lucifron in the Final of the Stim to the Win tournament on Friday. So win some, lose some.

LR is alright, you just have to bail out in the right time. Here we have 500+ pages of fun (excluding the manner/bm moves discussion and timezones) and then the zerg won aftermath. That's not bad.

Went to bed trying to sleep to the sound of the monday morning work traffic. Sick life.

Stephano is now the fourth player to win over $200,000 from Starcraft 2 tournaments!

Amazing! Even more so considering the other three, MC, Nestea and MVP have been SC2 pro-gamers for a year longer.

Interesting to note that Stephano has won ~ $41,000 since joining EG 2 and a half months ago! So much for a curse. Factor in that Stephano was unable to attend DH Bucharest or GD Studio Invitational last month due to his ban and his prize money accrual is impressively relentless.

To put some context, Idra has won ~ $53,000 since joining EG more than 2 years ago.

Terrans have fucking lost it. In the one ZvT series characterized by Stephano's sparing use of Infestors and Broodlords, we see one of the biggest shitstorms over broodlords and infestors.

Grats to stephano and bomber. I didnt see the games but im sure they were good. Regarding finals in a double bracket tournament, ive never managed to understand why the finals cant be played from scratch, 0 - 0. If you advance to the finals through the winners bracket then you have played fewer matches and you have avoided the stress of every match being an elimination match in the losers. Once 2 players are in the final they should be played from 0.

So one player is allowed to lose once, and the other isn't. Basically you get punished because you did better. How retarded is that.

wtf are you saying? the player from the winner bracket never lost and the one from the loser bracket lost once and had a second chance so it just makes sense.

Wow, that's actually pretty amazing. Love that it goes the big three and then Stephano. He's in range to take down Nestea if he does very well at WCS Finals too... Exciting stuff.

You realise when the bracket gets reset that's the guy from the winner bracket getting the same second chance the guy from the loser's bracket got right?

I'm genuinely not sure if you're disagreeing with him or agreeing with him for realsies.

If you're whining about balance, refute me or GTFO. Here's the crux: so Fungal is OP? A "skill-less" skill? What about lurkers in BW? Move your marines into a few of them, get shredded...and the Zerg didn't even have to click "F". Lockdown prevents micro? DEFINITELY OP. Plague = guaranteed damage? OP. You might as well say that the entire game of SC BW was just whoever could get the most OP units on the field. There's something called MICRO, idiots. Bomber clumped his marines and lost the game, simple as that.

Lurkers in BW took an insane amount of skill to use. Clearly you didn't play Zerg. They were fucking insane to use. I can't even tell if you're just spouting nonsense for the sake of spouting nonsense. The entire premise of attacking MM in BW with lurker ling was setting up a 2pronged flank (almost ALWAYS had to do a flank, extremely inefficient otherwise), surrounding the units with the lings and getting perfect burrow placement on the lurkers in different areas, since lurkers had an animation when burrowing (think the same thing as a siege tank entering siege mode). If you did it too far away, they didn't splash the marines. If they did it too close, then all the lurkers would die to stim.

Plague required 150 energy, not 75, was hive tech, and needed to be researched, often after consume. Defilers were notably slower, could not move while burrowed. Plague did not kill NOR root the enemy units.

Lockdown was not a viable spell and was almost never used.

You have fucking awful arguments.

LOL so stupid. Let me explain to you something. I didn't say Infestors are on par with Lurkers in difficulty. In fact, I believe Infestors are easier to use. But the entire thread was basically "OMG INFESTOR NO SKILL QQ". Attacking marine-tank with infestor-ling in SC2 is basically the same concept as lurker-ling in BW. You have to time your infestor movement just right; too early and the tanks will focus you, too late and the marines will have already kited your lings to death while avoiding the fungals. Yes, it's a step down from BW, but not the night-and-day difference that TLers are whining about.

Does fungal do 300 damage? No? STFU.

Lockdown not viable? Go watch some of Boxer's lockdown vs Carriers. STFU.

You're an idiot. Please delete your account.

User was temp banned for this post.

1. No, it's not the same concept whatsoever as lurkerling in BW. There is really no "just right" timing whatsoever. It's not even remotely comparable. Did you even play BW?

2. Doesn't matter if it did 300 damage over time. Most units it affected didn't even have 300 life so it wasn't even relevant. To add on, I forgot to mention the fact it didn't even affect shields, so if you used it on something like an Archon I believe it did 7 damage total. Units could actually retreat after being plagued (for example, Science Vessels), and repaired or simply continually used. Plague was strong, no where near fungal.

3. Boxer lost the majority of games he attempted to use lockdown vs Carriers. You see all those "pimpest play" moments where he utilizes lockdown? Yeah, they were badass. He still lost those games.

You have zero valid points, hopefully you will read over this even though you're banned.

Shows the plus side to cherry-picking certain tournaments, plus his pretty high skill level of course. Just seems wrong to have him above MVP!

Actually Stephano has been playing sc2 professionally since its very begining, he was just not doing very well I've watched him play tourneys in France like 6 month after the release.

He wasn't full time until September 2011. He was in High School up to then. There is a thread on TL about it. Remember the Complexity contract issue? He signed an employment contract with Mill in late Sept 2011. MC, Nestea and MVP were playing in the GSL in Sept 2010 - a full year earlier. Stephano won about $5000 before going full-time.
