So there was a situation today where I was put in a misunderstanding situation with a black man for using the N word. He took it to offense and my friend stepped up to my defense and said that I didn't mean it in an offensive way.
Then the black guy starts snapping at my friend because he's defending me (its ok though, I am understanding). I just say one last thing how we are both sorry, didn't mean to offend you, and lets just put this at rest because we do not want to fight. Then he starts snapping at me for even opening my mouth (god i hate stupid people).
Then my friend chips in that he would never want to fight him because the black guy would win. I didn't say anything because I was told multiple times to my face to shut up you don't have a right to talk with no explanation besides those words.
That sort of ticked me off a little and I thought of a scenario where if I would fight him, who would win? Well I was pretty confident that I would probably be able to get the upper hand on him because people always underestimate my strength due to my size. However, the better half of me was in control and I did NOT fight him.
Later on after we had changed subjects, the subject was changed to who's knife was on the table. It was the black guys. Of course when I do NOT put a racial profile on the black guy the knife is his. I would also have gotten stabbed if I had tried to fight him and not knowing about the knife.
The one case where stereotyping could have saved my life if I snapped back

So there was a guy with a knife visiting your ward? Guess they need to tighten security.

The coherency levels are below the point where I am able to understand two sentences of what you're saying.

I suggest not using the n word.
When you slip and say something that is interpreted as offensive and someone is giving you a hard time, I think just owning up to it and apologizing should be enough to give you the opportunity to end the affair. Something like...
you: blah blah n word blah blah them: HEY! you: huh? them: How dare you use that word? you: oh, but- them: You should keep your mouth shut you have no right to talk you: I made a poor word choice. I'm sorry. I'll be more careful! them: <starts to say something like they haven't had enough> you: I apologized, it won't happen again, sorry! <leave>
Then again I don't randomly use the n word in public so I haven't had a chance to try this out!

And the cold drops of a soft rain tipped and tapped upon the nearby window pane; another day had passed.

If they are telling you to be quiet, then there is nothing more to discuss... walk away. Yes I would walk away from a crazy ignorant person.

I forgive their ignorance because they can't help it, but ya that would have been my plan b

Also I live in the south. I have guys in my class that casually say the n word a lot, sometimes they will call pale and white here (myself) the n word for shitz and gigglez, and I'm down for it. What you did, you were a dick. I don't go into open areas with my white friends and start calling people beaners or saying fuck you kikes (despite the fact that I'm jewish), because its hateful and inapropriate. You should have just walked away and said sorry and then not talked again in front of him. Thats just distasteful State.

Honestly, if you used a racial slur at someone of that race you're lucky you didn't get your ass beat

I have to admit, I'm enamored with your blogs. They're so pointless, stupid, conceited, and a myriad of other negative things. I almost admire your ability to be the least likable human being I've ever had the misfortune of reading about.
Every time I see stateofreverie, I know I'm in for a treat. That doesn't mean I don't hate you and wish you would stop posting though

How did you tell this whole story without mentioning there was, for some reason, a knife on the table?
