Sorry to disappoint, but this one will be a regular gaming deal; I have pictures to find and get together for my next post in that series.
Anyway...
So over the past couple weeks, I and 100 of my closest League of Legends subforum buddies have been hanging out in a chat channel known as LiquidPractice on the NA server. It's been an amazing experience, and I urge all of you who play League of Legends at all to come hang out with us.
We have had inhouse 5v5 custom games running now almost 24/7 for about 2 weeks and they have been an amazing learning experience for just about everyone who participates. We have people in all elo ranges from unranked to 2200+, playing in games, spectating, doing commentary and giving advice. People have on the whole managed to keep their cool even in the case of completely mismatched games at times and overall everybody just has a really good time.
I have taken it upon myself to stream many of these games nightly as it allows the people participating in the games to look back at the VODs and review their play with commentary done by me and sometimes special high profile LoL subforum guests (read: whoever I can get). It has been a lot of fun for me and I have learned a lot improving my casting ability and even learning some tips and tricks for my own play along the way. (Maybe eventually I'll stop crapping out and play some ranked...and stream it too!)
Shameless self-promotion not finished; check out my Twitch.tv channel for some VODs and fun little plays of the night I've recorded.
I stream nightly from around 10:30 EST to 2:00 EST or so. You can find me either via the link I gave earlier or the TL.net streams sidebar if you want to watch. Feel free to add me to friends on the North America server as well.
If you want to play and join up with us, check out this thread and join LiquidPractice today! Anyone and everyone of all skill levels is encouraged and welcome to join. We're apparently trying to actually set up some premade 5s teams that can scrim with each other to further learn the benefits of drafting and counterpicks and such so we could always use more people!
