Quoting this as a nice little page topper and as a sub-32 hour reminder for the event! I hope to see you guys there bright and early on Saturday (or prime time if you're in Europe)!

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Mare-A-Thon 2.5
On Saturday, May 12th, we welcome everyone to #tlponies to come hang out as friends, to talk life and ponies, and to simply enjoy an exceptionally fun show together.
This Mare-A-Thon will be more low key than the previous ones (hence the 2.5). Instead of one or two full seasons, we'll be airing 26 of our favorite episodes, liberally sprinkled with some of the best PMVs the fandom has to offer. In other words, more Chronicles and less Mysterious Mare Do Well. I also won't make a separate post for this one in the TL Community section or advertise it on EqD. This one's all for you guys. =)
To that end, you will need to log into our #tlponies IRC to get the stream links. There won't be any contests or custom recorded videos this time around, just ponies and fun with our wonderful community friends.
Ladies and gentlemen, I cordially invite you all to a day of fun.
Because we need to fill the Second Ponyless Summer somehow.
When:
Saturday, May 12 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
There will be a ~20 minute preshow. The time displayed is the time zone you have set for TeamLiquid.net.
Where:
Links will be made available in our IRC shortly before broadcast
Live chat will take place in IRC, channel #tlponies on QuakeNet

Well, I was really curious, so I actually took the time to read some responses, and I guess I can now see where it's coming from. I was especially impressed by this:
It's defiantely high quality, much much more so than almost any animation I've seen in a long ass time (also the reason why I prefer manga over anime, it's just generally so badly animated and recycled. This is my opinion ofc)
I can also see why even adult men would watch something a bit more lighthearted that will just bring a smile to your face, rather than being the most awesome shit you've ever seen with a gory storyline.
I doubt I'll ever get to it, or watch it, but just with 20 minutes of reading/watching, I did develop a respect for the series. TBH, we need more of this kind of stuff. The entertainment today revolves around sex and violence, and this gives us a break from it and can actually help develop better moral values, especially with younger people.
I hope more people would see this series, even if I doubt I'll give it a go myself. respect.

Quick to jump at a piece of tangentially-related trivia you expect me to be oblivious of, I see. It's not helping your case. From Faust's EqD interview:
L. Faust: I had played with the toys for most of my childhood, and I literally referenced the characterizations and stories I made up for myself when I was little. The characters you see in the show were based entirely on the personalities I gave certain toys.
Let that sink in. G1 was literally so useless a child had to make up their own version.

G1 was the same dreck to anyone capable of having a taste. It's no coincidence the "fans" of today were all kids at the time.

I think that stimulating a child's imagination to the point where they design an entire show out of it is quite important. I think overestimate how much children read into characterization.
I think that Faust herself mentioned she drew references from previous generations in character creation. I'm on a smartphone at the moment so looking up sources is a bitch.
And besides, I think its pointless to attack G1 like this. And the guy who posted the ride thingy he saw in the mall was making.a joke (that is what sparked this line of discussion). Lighten up. Lol.
I made a few updates to the Diablo 3 TLPonies Community Event. Make sure you look at the updates, and check the Google Docs. Battletags would be helpful.
The way it's looking: NA is looking very sparse. We have enough for one 4-man party. Two Monks, one Wizard, one Witch Doctor. If anyone else would like to join, please add yourself to the list.
EU has seven people so far... but three of them are Wizards. More class diversity would be great, but because of instanced drops, not necessary. Do what you will!

Lauren's concept art for the main cast, based on G1 ponies(spoilered due to image sizes):
At its essence, FiM is Lauren's fanfics and fanart turned into a show. Names and designs are different, but each of the mane 6 are based moreso on the G1 ponies Lauren grew up with than anypony else.

Except for the part where it, y'know, didn't. She didn't grow up wanting to make her own MLP show. She landed the job out of the blue by complete accident, and went "Euh, okay then. What can I do with this?". By then she was a professional with a trained grasp of building characters.
Also, "stimulating a child's imagination"? You just described a rock.

Canon shells to insert your OCs in aren't quite what I have in mind when I think of being influenced by a work's merits.

Oh, that guy? Never cared about 'im. My bone to pick is with this:

And that's very sweet, until you realize they were the only ones for her to base anything on, and inspired by the muse of being hired to do it. I fully appreciate her professional work on the show, but the G1 abominations don't deserve credit by mere virtue of association. Managing to make gold out of crap doesn't automatically mean the crap was ever good. It just means you're really fucking good at it.

Who wants to bet that Ahzz is soon to become a brony as well?
It has come to my attention from some people on IRC that the EU players would not mind playing on NA for the launch party. While you cannot transfer characters back and forth between servers, Global Play will be available from the start. This gives the benefits of letting EU players play with NA players for parties, it smooths team balancing (so we can share equipment more easily) and it makes for an overall smoother experience for us! The problems are that EU players will be playing with a bit of lag, the EU players won't be able to take advantage of the NA RMAH (although that won't be a foreseeable problem for launch) and that the EU players will need to make new characters on EU for their "mains" or what have you.
Posted an updated version of my Cutie Mark Crusader track. Could use a bit more mixing, but God knows when or if I will get around to that. Hope you Enjoy! =]
I should have posted this yesterday... >.> Most of this will be copy-paste, but you should all be familiar with the process by now.
EU QUALIFIER #1 INFORMATION FOUND BELOW
These qualifiers are open to everyone. Any skill league, and as many people that want to play. I will take each and every one of you =D. If you want to sign up, here is what you need to do. If you have ever signed up for a BronyCraft Tournament, it should be very familiar to you. I have to stress that you follow this format to the letter though. This Tournament is going to be very hectic, and will require Twilight OCD levels of organization to keep straight. So, if you do not follow the format laid out here, your spot in this qualifier may end up being dropped. Fair warning. I don't want to come off as mean, but I just want to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible =D
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR EU QUALIFIER #1
1) Post in this thread the following numbers in this list. Easy, right? 2) Battle.Net Name for your EU account. 3) Your friend code for your EU account. 4) Your favorite pony of the MANE SIX. Not Spike, Not Celestia/Luna, MANE SIX. (Don't complain, just do it =D) 5) Main Race - You must pick Terran, Zerg, or Protoss for the whole season. NO RANDOM. 6) Finally: To make sure that this thread stays on topic, post your favorite Screenshot OR Fan Art of Season 2. (ok, this can be optional too. But do it anyway, cause why not?) 7) Copy paste ALL of the above information and PM it to ME. BioSC. Yes, double confirmation. Again, Twi OCD levels here. Make sure that when you PM me, the subject of the PM is the # of the qualifier you want to sign up for. (Example: if you want to sign up for this qualifier, the subject would be "EU Qualifier #1"
Seems easy enough, right? I though so too =D
As for the tournament itself, its pretty straightforward. Here are the rounds/starting maps. I will add and subtract rounds as needed, of course.
ROUND AND STARTING MAP LIST Round 1: Best of 3, Starting map: Antiga Shipyard Round 2: Best of 3, Starting map: Ohana Round 3: Best of 3, Starting map: Daybreak Round 4: Best of 3, Starting map: Atlantis Spaceship Round 5: Best of 5, Starting map: Entombed Valley Round 6: Best of 5, Starting map: Cloud Kingdom
The format for the tournament will be a simple BestOf format. The first map for each round will be the one as described above, and next maps will be chosen by the loser of the previous map. the map pool for EACH qualifier, and the Main Event, is as follows.
MAP POOL Antiga Shipyard • Cloud Kingdom • Entombed Valley • Ohana • Atlantis Spaceship • Daybreak • Metropolis
Yeah, we have updated our map pool a bit =D.
Finally, there is the points system. It is a very simple system, but I still want there to be no confusion.
Each qualifier has an opportunity for a person to score a number of points based on how well they progress in the tournament. The top 2 finishers from each qualifier will earn a spot in the Final Event, but the rest can earn spots based on the points they earn out of each qualifier. The possible points that can be earned are listed below.
WHEN AND WHERE FOR EU QUALIFIER #1 This Qualifier will take place on the EU server. The date is Saturday, the 19th of May. The Time will be tentatively scheduled for 7:00PM CENTRAL EUROPEAN TIME. The games will be covered by yours truly on my stream, www.twitch.tv/Bio_HoN, with a very special guest, Special_Endrey!
I hope that many people sign up for this, and have as much fun as possible during this season. I am super excited for all of this to get started, and I hope that everyone enjoys Season 1 of the BCL as much as I imagine. I'm looking forward to your PM's and sign ups, and lets get this season underway!
HUMBLY ASKED COMMUNITY HELP Once again, I ask for some community help. I want to make BronyCraft3 as amazingly epic as it possibly can be, but alas, I cannot do it alone. Here are a few things that I will need help with, and hopefully the amazing ponies here can work some of their magic and help me out with some of these things!
Advertisement and Promotion Specialist: I would like someone to spread the word about BC3 and the BCL to as far as possible. Post about it on Reddit, send the post to EqD, ect. Someone or somepeople who could do that... I would be very thankful for.
Qualifier/Main Event Bracket Organizer: I need someone to help me out with bracket organization and updating. Basically, if you do not want to participate in any of the qualifiers, PM me your interest in this spot, and I will get back to you!
Finally: To everyone in TLPonies, to everyone who is thinking of signing up, to everyone who may or may not watch the vods, thank you. I want this to be the best thing possible, because you guys are worth it. If you have any questions at all about this whole thing, any format questions or anything, please feel free to send me a PM on TL. I check this thing daily.
And here we go again. Just hope I get an opponent this time that I can at least take ONE game off. :D RariSCy.906 replace SC with t and you have my favourite pony Protoss + Show Spoiler +
