The better player won.
I concede that cheesy rushes aren't as entertaining for the fans, but at the end of the day, MVP is playing to win, and no one can reasonably fault him for that.

Let's hope Parting curbstomps him =D

lol i love all of the hate from MVP - if naniwa is so good, he should be able to stop 2 rax pressure npnp because cheese is a part of the game and it IS defendable.
gg's to MVP for taking down nani in, what was no doubt, revenge for his teammate nestea and the probe rush. owned.

Being unpredictable is what makes you a good player, look at Flash or BoxeR, BoxeR bunker rushed YellOw 3 times in a row in the OSL semis (if I recall correctly). Also, if you are prone to early attacks 3 games in a best of 5, there is a problem

I love how Naniwa spent all this time training only to be his normal greedy self, while MVP used the time to actually study his opponent realised how greedy Naniwa is and punished him for it.
That's why MVP is a three time champion of the world and Naniwa is a champion of nothing.

I haven't been watching GSL much recently, and the game quality this time was really disappointing. The parting-oz series was just awful to watch. I'd rather rewatch last year's PVP matches where it was strictly "who can 4-gate" better.
The first series at least had some excitement, and I really felt like Naniwa could have held off the all-ins a lot better and won, but he made bad decisions and panicked. Especially in the last game he lost.

Goddamnit, people love making huge dramas whenever someone cheeses. Actually, the most likely scenario is that mvp studied nani's play and decided he had an early game weakness and decided (correctly) to exploit it. Nani is known for exceptionally rigid play and a cheese weakness with a strong late game, why would any smart player play into his opponent's strengths?
Nani needs to address this issue if he intends to win the GSL

MVP didn't really do anything illegitimate, made for terrible games to watch but he did play well so fair play, and that's coming from somebody who was rooting for the foreigner in this instance.
More annoyed at Oz though, eugh he goes from the sublime to the ridiculous over and over again, so disappointing especially considering his PvP is top notch without resorting to such weirdness.
Still all is not lost, at least we get to see these guys again next season, hoping for good things and MVP's continued strength also warms my soul

This situation was exactly the same as the Leenock vs Naniwa in the MLG providence finals. Naniwa went nexus first 4 times in a row and leenock roach busted him 4 times in a row. People were all hating leenock for those cheeses but leenock exploit naniwa weakness in the early game and punished him for it. That is called smart play.
Dunno why so much hate for MVP when he meta-gamed Naniwa and read him like a book. MVP knew Naniwa greediness in the early game and punished him for it like how Leenock did.
Swedes are extremely supportive of their players and hate anyone that beats their players.
I respect them for that but I wish it wasn't blinding the majority of them.

Cheesing is disgraceful and should be avoided at this lvl of play, sure Nani should have countered them and stuff, but I feel like the general notion of cheese is disrespectful for your opponent, 2 ways you can interpret it IMO :
- I suck too much to take Nani late game. - Everybody hates Nani in Korea, i'll just Humiliate the guy.
So yeah this is my own point of view regarding cheese, I am not appealing any one to support me or to comment this, but my FEELING today, is that MVP does not deserve any respect from me anymore.
And I am not swedish, neither am I a protoss player, nor a fanboy.
Just a regular fan of the GSL who'd like to see better games and more respect than a straight up 3 cheeses in a row.
So yeah I spit on MVP and hope he will get his butt kicked by partying why not petition gsl to have a 20 min no rush rul then?
Don't bother with this guy he is retarded. These players are playing for huge sums of money, you do what you can to win, and that includes researching how your opponents play. If the games are fun for spectators, then good for us. Not allowing cheese is basically saying that your opponents can just play greedily and not get punished for it. It's one of the reasons why starcraft is such a strategic game.

As people have said, Nani was supposedly practicing his ass off, but Mvp apparently knew how to practice/study better.

I heard a little korean bird sang the nani-build-song into his ear

I have a feeling MVP prepared these games because of nanis greedy play and the fact that he didnt want to show his non cheesy builds for the Ro4 games.

That's a pretty ridiculous accusation, unless you have evidence to back it up.
And no, Naniwa's paranoia doesn't count as evidence.

And here comes the Swedes to make excuses. Like he needs to someone to tell him Naniwa will play a super greedy opening into a two base all in, he does that 80% of his games anyway and has done for the last 6 months.

i'm so disappointed Naniwa lost... especially (as I expected) MVP would try to end the games early ;_; dammit!
Oh well, at least Parting advanced over Oz. Also he went 3-0... so his PvP is pretty good now? If Oz advanced he wouldn't be able to take on MVP but Parting has a good chance.
Hope MVP doesn't win a 4th title... cus that will put him ahead of Nestea and MC still hasn't won his 3rd title ;_;

Well said. I don't know if we can even take him seriously calling Parting "partying".

Gratz to mvp, haters always gonna hate, it wasnt a "honorable" win per say but still a win, if naniwa would have 4gated his way to a 3-1 win we would probably have the same amount of people dissing him
Hoping mvp goes all the way!

Though if Parting or Squirtle takes this, MC's position as Protoss President should be considered heavily threatened. Squirtle in particular has been looking like a beast in all his match-ups recently; I think he's a better candidate, personally, than Parting, but we'll see how Squirtle plays this round. Parting seems to have complete faith in Squirtle to make finals from his side of the brackets.
