EDIT: maybe we should just slowly destroy all the bad words like in nineteen eighy-four. if you have a problem with the language a player directs at you in a game, since you never chose to be exposed to it.. take it up with blizzard and don't start a smear campaign

Destiny makes choices to use these words. He thinks they are OK. Mostly, they aren't, but it's his choice. He WOULD suffer for saying these things if he ever wanted to push further into a legitimate role in this scene. Hands down. You can get away with stuff only for so long, then a team, a sponsor, a friend takes notice and turns off their support. However, this shouldn't be a surprising revelation from Destiny. And Destiny, who is clearly NOT a community pillar, or interested in being one, can say whatever he wants, whether we think it's despicable or not. You can't just hunt down anyone who uses ugly language on ladder. His choices will catch up to him in some way or another. Go back to bed ... he's not killing eSports. Log onto Xbox live for like ... 5 minutes and you will hear the worst shit you've ever heard ... ever.

I don't want to have anything to do with destiny anymore or quantic for that matter because they sponsor and support this ridiculous clown.

You can't call a group of black people 'niggers' and then say "Oh, to me it just means 'gentlemen'." When you use a racial epithet towards someone, especially when its the exact slur that pertains to that persons race, it is racist. It doesn't matter whether you intended for it to be racist or not. That's like calling a woman 'cunt' and when she gets angry saying "I meant it as a compliment"!

Granted what they say at practice and even on the field will definitely be colorful and offensive. However, in a public sphere a professional sports player cannot say racial slurs or call people 'fucking faggots'. If they did and when they have, there has been major controversy.

Can't remember who got defeatured for the n-word, but I guess everyone should be treated the same way. When Orb got banned and actually lost his job, there were people actually argueing if he actually is racist... which is just wrong in the first place, but now people in here white knight for Destiny because 'thats just how he is' and the OP should 'stop to cry' ? Seriously, double-standards. I hold no grudge against Destiny and I couldn't care less about racial slurs, because I don't think its the racial slur that he intends to do, but rather to insult the other person. He could easily say son of a bitch or sorts of that and it would also fit the purpose. I just don't think we should start to handle same situations differently, just because someone is more or less known for bm. Orb didn't get banned though, and he also didn't get defeatured iirc. If TL is going to take action against streamers using derogatory slurs, they need to be consistant. I don't agree at all with what he's done, and although I don't watch his stream and the worst I've gotten from him on ladder is 'asshole', I think this instance and actions like this demand some sort of response from TL on their featuring guidelines, and possibly an apology from Quantic. I understand his value to the team but at what point does it become detrimental?

How do you know the people that went after Orb are the ones defending Destiny? I think what happened to Orb was absolutely despicable and the people involved in that witch hunt should be ashamed of themselves. Destiny can say whatever the hell he wants and you can either tune in or not.

Seriously though, is there any particular reason are bringing up Destiny yet again, after more than year of exactly the same behavior? the word faggot or queer was not the intended target for the asian opponent. Calling him a faggot when the opponent's sexual preference was not known at the time was not exactly the most hurtful slur you can sling a somebody. But calling out a person for being of a certain race is most definitely one of the prime example of racial slurring. If, I called someone in college that was a open homo-sexual, a faggot or queer in public, that would be considered a hate crime. Somebody in Rutgers got prison time because he supposedly exposed his room-mate as a queer on the internet. The room-mate jumped off the George Washington Bridge. Professional SC2 players that play with or against other people of different ethnicities are held to a much higher standard of conduct than amateur players that have the freedom of no scrutiny and expectations from Teams, sponsors, etcetera. If one of Destiny's sponsors was Samsung or Hyundai, and Destiny continues to sprout his racial slurs on online videogames. I would see no reason to see why Samsung or Hyundai would want o Sponsor Quantic Gaming or anybody of that team for that matter.

That's what happens when kids watch something cool on TV and copy it. Age restriction required on the stream because of these kids : ) Precisely, OP raised a valid concern and explained his logic and rationale behind his concern. Much better than all those who felt the need to insult OP. If you think hes over sensitive, just say it, don't have to be a dick about it. And whats up with the hate towards cheese? This is a strategy game where people can pick their options and execute it well. If he dosen't play your way, does it matter?
