This made my day. I was feeling so drowsy and sick from last night and when I read the "Explanation about the drama," holy shit I laughed so hard and now I feel better haha

Good for you. The thread and production value looks promising. I don't think a lot of people are bitter because they fell for the joke. They're bitter because you just don't do stuff like this. It's a fucking awful April fool's joke. No one should joke about this sort of stuff. An April fool's joke is not supposed to alienate people, it's supposed to be funny. This was not funny. Who are you to state that as fact? As someone who wants eSports to succeed in the long run. Joke organizations who think this is an appropriate way to run a business has no place in an already struggling career and profession that's laughed and scoffed at daily by the general public. This just makes our little world even more laughable, because the majority seems to think this is acceptable. They pulled an April Fools on us, they have de-legitimized e-sports! Sometimes I just wish E-sports would die... so we could stop having all of this "killing e-sports" bullshit on these forums. Can people EVER have fun on these forums? It has nothing to do with that they pulled an April fool's. April fool's jokes are fine, when they are funny. It's the context and way the April fool's was presented that, yes, de-legitimizes their entire business. I'll say it again. If sponsors look at this announcement and they think this is a representation of how organizations in our world conduct themselves, it puts us all in a negative light.
What makes you think Sponsors would look at this team only? If sponsors would be serious they'd take a look at the big picture; Evil Geniuses, coL, Fnatic.. the list goes on.

Say what you will, logic does not faze us. The cult of ESPORTS will have eclypsia's collective head on a plate soon.
|
We'll see how it'll go, Eclypsia. There's one thing though: You can't fool TL Mafia.
|
I won't deny that I fell for their trick, but I'm glad that it worked out alright.
|
I think this was pretty disgraceful and a slap in the face to those who have been scammed by teams. And you guys consider yourselves to be professional? I sure as hell won't be following/supporting you ass clowns. fuck you guys
|
What a terrific prank.. it's like a joke where you cover yourself from head to toe in fake poop, then burst into a room shouting "HA HA, YOU ALL THOUGHT THIS WAS REAL POOP! JOKE'S ON YOU! ...Now help me burn my clothes".
Sooooo funny, yeah they totally got 'us' :/
|
Well, I guess no publicity is bad publicity. Hope it doesn't hurt your team though. Fortunately though I decided to wait before judging whether it was real or not until an actual response, seemed the sensible thing to do.

It would have been funnier if your clan had a more significant chance of success. Right now it's kind of like "ha ha...and?"

No, Sponsors will look at what's hot right now, and what's hot right now? Oh yeah, a company that completely jokes about not paying their own employees and then passes it off as an April-fool "joke". If you think that this doesn't hurt anyone, you're severely mistaken.

Wow bad april fools joke turns out to be huge announcement of new players, congrats!
|
Good luck ! Sarens and Artist, sick move !
|
Haha to all the people who didn't get the aprils fool "joke"! Y U SO SERIOUS? This was obvious. Not clever; but obvious.
|
Wow probably the best April Fools joke so far
Myself and many others were really worried about this situation
glad that we can all laugh and enjoy

Disgusting. Although I already suspected given the timing of the post, I found it hard it to believe that a company's PR team could stoop so low to actually try this. Jokes are jokes, but certain lines shouldn't be ever crossed. A person's future/life/family should never be used. Given that players have been terribly scammed by teams in the near past, this is a huge insult and slap in their face. Especially given that SC2 esport is still relatively fragile, growing and often shady.
|
lol. good stuff. people need to lighten up, but I guess TL loves their drama and are disappointed this all turned out to be a joke.
|
Who're your sponsors? I want to let them know what kind of shit corporation you're running.
This is the kind of thing we should as a community be pissed about. We are not your punching bags, don't insult us by exploiting our concern over the players we appreciate.
Abysmal marketing scheme, you should be ashamed.

They are insulting players who have been shafted by teams in the past. It's a huge slap in the face. This is not something to joke about when the general public already thinks what we do is a joke.
|
That is some seriously great marketing. Nothing gets this community more up in arms about something like a good piece of monetary drama. Everyone will know who you are now simply because they thought you were scamming pro's. Frankly I think thats a brilliant move. Should have also put it on reddit though!
Well Played

People take things to seriously. This is why I love eSports, it's not all business and suits and ties, we can troll each other and laugh about it afterwards.
