Actually I have a great sense of humor. But I'm passionate about eSports and I want it to succeed as a legitimate business Wnd when conducting BUSINESS, you do not make an April fool's about that your organization is a shady organization who tricks their players to spend their own money on plane tickets and hotel, doesn't pay salary for weeks and just disappears and has been out of contact for two weeks.
That is not how you conduct business in an already struggling and quite laughable profession in the eyes of non gamers. It's not a brilliant marketing move it's a retarded marketing move.

when you make a joke about something, you make it appear less harmful/important. You take away a lot of respect, and usually the respect was build up for a reason.
Furthermore, straight lying to my face will destroy my trust in you. Even though i knew from the first read of Welmu's post that it was supposed to be an april's fool, next time Welmu or any other Player from Eclypsia will post on the forum that they have been cheated out of their prize money or something similar, I will not be able to take it seriously.
So next time you make a joke about something, expect that you lose the trust of people. So joke about something that cannot come back to bite you.

People take april fools jokes way too fucking far sometimes and im pretty damn sick of it. I'm good for a little joke that is clearly a joke for example : http://www.complexitygaming.com/news/3477/
But this. This for one isnt funny, was never funny, and will never be funny. Joking about taking players money is a REAL thing, and its something that, although may not have happened yet, can happen at any time and is completely unacceptable.
I will not actively support this team because of this and im pretty disgusted honestly. Although i will not actively try to kill this team, i very much hope it dies in the water, as i'd hate for any team to built upon lies and a "joke".
That said, i'm glad it wasnt an actual scam. And i'm glad for the players. Except desrow, he honestly doesnt deserve anything in this scene.

It was in bad taste, but hey, they got our attention, which was the point. IMO if you want to get attention of people, it's always better to base it off something positive than negative.

This is not brilliant, this is just shady publicity work. I bet those Eclypsia guys don't care about informing everyone that this was a hoax, a lot of negativity has been created and people were influenced in their opinion about E-Sports.
This is just low level attention wh**ing and i therefore hope that this team does not get attention and success.
