Delay is totally fine for me on bnet, I havent had any troubles. As for the hackers out of the last 50 games or so I have faced like 2 hackers.

My delay is also fine on BNet. Sometimes it gets bad during battles, but I saw no diff. between SC2 and War3 delay.
I haven't hit any hackers recently, but lossbots get kind of annoying and aren't too rare.
@ TheToast: Can't host 'cause I'm on-campus at school, so ports are blocked. :/

I remember one day when I got hacked 5 games in a row and with 5 different hacks. After that I stopped playing WC3 for almost a year. I will join that garena group the next time I am home with my PC. (atm being at my gfs home, with no wc3 installed on my laptop.) maybe we can create an irc channel "TLWC3" or something. This should help a ton with coordination.

I had well over 6000 games played and can count the number of hackers I encountered on two, maybe three hands. Even if I may have missed a few, your story doesn't seem right to me. I was probably called a hacker every 10-20th game though, so you'll forgive me when I doubt your story. That is, unless things changed dramatically at some point after I quit.

Hack the network!
Anyway I'm on Bnet right now and Don't see anyone else in TeamLiquid or Team Liquid. You guys said US East right?

Yup, on US East. TeamLiquid, no space.
I'll be on after I finish my readings for a little bit, but that won't be at least for an hour, maybe 2. :/

Yeah I have some stuff I'm working on so I'm just going to idle for a while.
-edit: and I checked, I can host custom games.

:D
Sweet, I'll pop in tonight and if you're there, we might be able to play some games. (PS: I'm really shitty, so no worries.) ^^

Hadn't seen this thread ;-)
I'm an advid WC3 player. In fact, I've played the game on and off since 2004. I wouldn't exactly call myself super good at it, but atleast I know a little bit about just about anything that's related to WC3.
ID: "LittLe(D)" on Northrend! (Bad stats are bad, I lost my other main account which was LittLeD due to inactivity)

When I left, there were only hackers left on ladder, and that was when you would find an actual game. All my friends had also left. I had no reason to keep playing. I love to see this post and that people still want to play the game.
IfI find people to play with, I'm always up for it, so count me in.
By the way I was top 100 in 1v1 and top 10 in 2v2 most of the time.
Make an account on US East on battlenet and join the channel teamliquid :D
EVERYONE ELSE GET UR ASSES ON AS WELL AND STAY THERE!!

Great games last night guys! Officially orc > all :D :D :D
I'm going to see about getting an IRC setup, I may need some assistance as I think you need a couple of people idleing in the channel to register it with a Q.
I'll also see about writing up a guide later on how to open port 6112 so you can host games on Battlenet (Bnet 2.0 isn't so bad is it? XD) since I know some of you are having issues with that.

where can I get decent maps?
|
can u guys accept me on garena group? :S

You'll have to wait until PiPo gets back. If I'm not mistaken, he's the only one with administrative powers and can't actually distribute them because Garena doesn't allow that for some reason unless you're a clan or something like that. And making a clan on Garena costs cash, I think? Or it costs something ... =X

I was probably called a hacker every 10-20th game though, so you'll forgive me when I doubt your story. That is, unless things changed dramatically at some point after I quit. Actually what I said was 100% true and not an overstatement. Sure, sometime people were blindly accused to be a hacker for creepjacking, which most of the time was just good timing/gamesense.
But the hacks I encountered were totally different. I remember the building-hack, where your oponent just starts building some structures around your base and those buildings were not targetable. therefore you were trapped and had to play something like 1base air, which in 99% of all cases did not work. Another hack was the goldmine-into-farm hack, where an enemy worker came to your goldmine and transformed it in a farm as soon as he reached it. o.O gg. Then there were drophacks and if your opponent, who you just owned in a battle, writes "good bye noob" and all of a sudden you disconnect, do the math. Also very funny, a hack where your mouse cursor is forced to be stuck in a corner of your screen. Last but not least there were maphacks and you could see that your oponent used it when he clicks on your buildings through the Fog of war, without ever having scouted you.

well, if we can get a small community going, players can feel free to learn without being subjected to hacks. there is already a community for decent players out there.
ill teach anyone a build or two, and explain a few noobie concepts. just pm me here, or frankmcdeez on bnet.
