Sorry guys that I haven't been active for a while. I had been submitting requirements here and there for school since we are the graduating batch. I'm sorry if there are unfinished buildings that I have left around the world but I'll try to finish them this break.
Greetings fellow Minecrafters. With the conclusion of the library build, the next is on the horizon. This time it is the docks.

This is the general plan: Turn the bay at the mouth of the river into a veritable center of trade as a secondary objective of making fantastic eyecandy. The things we need are everything that goes into a harbor. Warehouses, docks, a dry dock. Unfortunately, I don't have to time to design and build everything that is entailed in that. So what I need you all to do is pick a plot in the zoning map above and design something that will fit in there and fit the theme of a harbor. Additionally, go crazy with the ships, we have to fill in the docks with something.

Lighthouse
Good road
Small boathouse
Wave breaks
Dry Docks Teleporter
Things that are in progress:
Docks for small ships (connecting road is done, actual docks need to be built now)
Large Ship Docks (Contimax)
Things that we definitely need:
Warehouses
SHIPS
The peninsula
Anything beyond this we will have to see. So good luck and get designing!
Note: Don't dig down into zone #1. My not-so-secret lair is underneath there. Seriously. Don't. Just don't. Fixed in that the teleporter area is now above the lair. :3
Update #1: Things that have been accomplished over the past couple days include the wave breaks thanks to ZodaSoda and the teleport area above Zone #1 (also thanks to ZodaSoda). So, don't plan on using Zone #1 for any of your constructions. Besides that, Joshua called on doing the Dry Docks, so don't plan on building those either. Also, Contimax just recently called on doing the Large Ship Docks.
Update #2: Updated the zoning map for accuracy. Zones 1 & 2 are fair game for building. Of the two, Zone 1 is probably better suited for building in that it is already cleared and flattened. Also, Something that I have noticed in that someponies have been assuming that you MUST fill in the entire zone or stick to the zoning map religiously. Don't assume that. It is supposed to be a loose guide for where things should be placed more or less. If you go outside where the bounds of the zone are by a little bit as long as it doesn't screw something else up who cares? For example, Zone #2 was originally two zones, but could easily fit two entirely separate buildings in the zone. And if you want to do that, have at it. Another example is that the peninsula does NOT have to look remotely close to what I did in 5 seconds in paint. Just make it look good.
But besides that, the Dry Docks are done thanks to ZodaSoda and JoshuaMaly, Contimax is looking really close to having the exterior of the building for the Large Boat Docks done, and lastly, the area to the right of the teleport is looking really ripe for a beach party... Assuming someone builds the beach that is...
We've already got some interest. ZodaSoda is currently working on some designs for the wave breaker in creative mode, and people have already expressed interest in making ships. Heck, if you want to make a boat or a ship, freaking go for it. It's a big dock and we can hardly have too many.
I'll get started on some structures over the next few days, although I'd prefer if we had the actual docks ready by then, design wise, even if it's just a dirt mockup.
In other news, we want to go to the End. This has been a community event in the planning for some time, and people really want to go, so let's do it this week.
I'm doing a preliminary query here, as I'd like to gather as many people as possible for this. When would you guys be available? Weekday or weekend; any preference? Time of day would be evening for Euros and afternoon for Americans.

Actually, I'm going to rethink that idea. I;m currently remodeling, and with the new dock coming in, I think that is going to be a necessity. But don't want to work off of nothing.

Since I live in that area, just thought Id let you know that there are some underground ravines around this area. I dont think in any of the building zones, but in the vicinity.
