Well first off, hello there TL! I've always been lurking around the community but never made many posts (if any at all). So I might as well start off a bit about myself.
I'm an engineering student at McMaster and living on campus. I enjoy listening music & playing guitar, watching movies, gaming, and just hanging out with friends. My in-game alias is Kai (happens to be my last name) and I'm all for the swarm!
Starcraft 2 was the first RTS game in which I've committed myself to improving. I've played other RTS games before but only for the enjoyment. The first game I played competitively was Counter Strike. Played for about 4 years until it started becoming less enjoyable.
It was at this point that Starcraft 2 was in beta and it was also the first time I played the game. I can safely say I was terrible at this game. Always wanting to build buildings and never any units; clicking everywhere with no hotkeys. It wasn't until late December that I had chosen to put CS behind me and dedicate my time to Starcraft 2. I still wasn't very good at the game (placed into bronze), making the same mistakes. Fast forward one year and I made it into diamond and aiming for masters.
Recently school has taken more of a priority for me (than in past years), but I'm still committed to improving at this game. Whenever I have free time, I'll try to get in a few games (surprisingly most nights). I'm at a point where I envy a lot of the good players who happen to be in school at the same time and wish I could do the same.
Anyways, this wasn't a very good first blog and hopefully I'll improve as I write more. Just wanted to get an introduction out there looking forward to contributing more.
Back to the house hunting, - Kai

Welcome to TL man, for the swarm!
It is pretty awesome that yo have been able to go from bronze to diamond without to much trouble, what has the switch from fps to rts been like for ya?
Did you play 1.6 or source?
Being able to balance school and SC is extremely hard to do...QXC is a god.

I played a little bit of 1.6 in the beginning, but switched to source after a couple of month (this was during all that CGS stuff) and just stuck with that until I started playing SC2.
As far as the switch went, it was pretty tough at first. Getting use to all the bindings, the different maps, different strategies, learning what to do in certain situations, but after toughing it out those first couple of months, it went by pretty smoothly. Mentally, the transition was a bit tougher. I was in that mindset (probably due to too much competitive cs) that if I didn't win games, I was bad. When school started, I took a bit of a 3 month break, playing a game or two the odd days. It was at this point that I realized I sucked and that winning didn't really matter as long as I could take something away from my losses and improve on them.
QXC is pretty amazing being able to balance school and staying competitive. Hopefully I'll be able to learn how to do that one day.

Thank you thank you.
Also if anyone knows anyone who needs a roommate or has an extra room in Hamilton, I'm looking for a place for next year.
Haha, anyways, looking forward to meeting more of you.
