I've made several blog posts about my electronic music productions, and my prior death metal efforts.
With my last blog post, I mentioned I was sending a song to labels. And Smashed Beatz picked it up! It will be released in the next month or so, available soon on Beatpor! With some Christmas and work money I bought a new PC for production (and SC2 ) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=137554¤tpage=869#17365.
My roommate and I are working on a four song E.P. of similarly epic songs, along with touching some other genres (house and DnB). We finished the first song (last track actually). We definitely both pushed our production skills as hard as possible for the songs from the E.P. Give it a listen and let me know what you think! It's definitely in the modern American aggressive direction, but if that's you think I think you might find it enjoyable.

Link worked for me. I hope that all your hard work pays off :D

The bass seems to be pretty weak in the mix for a dubstep song o.O
Not bad, though. It's pretty interesting.

Hmm, definitely skrillex inspired. Good stuff.

this is pretty awesome. more stuff like this :D

Very good after the drop (cool variety of sounds), but I don't like the intro much, I think you should tone it down a bit to emphasize after the drop, and the bass you use during the intro sounds very weak. I'm sure you toned it down deliberately but it just sounds like the very weak midrange bass that very amateur producers use (you also use it on the intro to the second drop). I would advise you to try just using a very deep bass with little high end, on fairly low volume. I would use more pads and try to keep the intro smoother until you hit the drop and move into the fast cuts.
The little melody at 2:30 is really weird and out of place and doesn't work melodically with the other instruments
Much better that your last posted track! I would pick this one up and add it to the collection if it got smoothed out a little.

Aaah shit I love the music man! <3

Much better that your last posted track! I would pick this one up and add it to the collection if it got smoothed out a little. You always give very thorough criticism, and I appreciate it! Your comment about the part at 2:30 is the final nail in it's coffin (at that point in the song, I still like it at the end, because if someone listens that long, I have the right to give their ears whatever I want).
The intro is over the top, but Gimmah and I played in a melodic death metal band and it's just a straight port from that to electronic music. It's gimmicky, over the top, epic, and melodic, and I think I'll leave it that way. The intro bass is a bit cheesy, I'll change it a bit. I value and respect your criticism, and hope someday I'll make a song that will make your list!
You can say you influenced me when I''m famous.

I remember you posting, and I also remember I did not like your Trip to Andromeda very much and posted exactly why. Sad to say I don't like your latest track either. But I appreciate the fact that you did get picked up and I hope you'll be able to improve and develop your own distinct style through the contacts this will give you, and possibly earn some money as well, which is nothing to sneeze at.
Best of luck.

Ahh, I checked your post. Yes that was very critical. Can't please everyone! If you have links to your own productions, I'd be happy to listen. I definitely let everything I listen to influence me, and if your song structure is as impeccable as your comments suggest it is, I'm sure I'll pick something up!

I agree that 2:30 feels odd, but I LOVE the section right after that! and the sections around 3:50 etc.
Love me some melodic Dubstep, nice work man!

First time I'm hearing one of your tracks, since my musical taste ranges from rock/metal over electronic stuff all the way to classical music I had to tune in.
Some comments:
Love the intro. Something I haven't heard when it comes to music like this, and I LOVE what you describe as "gimmicky and over the top". If I add "Death Metal?" there I admit I have to think about Children of Bodom keyboard work, just way more subtle. =P
0:40~ gets my love as well, that entire part makes my inner drummer a happy cat.
2:30~ is where I agree with everyone else. Just feels weird and out of place.
2:45~ sounds awesome once again, also the way the sound evolves all the way to 3:25ish is <3
3:28~3:50 sounds weird to me. Yes, I do understand that it was time to mix it up but it feels out of place somehow.
4:00+ the main theme somehow starts to annoy me. I'm not entirely sure why since I loved it during the first few minutes. My guess is that the times where you're breaking it feel somehow forced and not harmonic. For my taste you have sometimes INSANE great parts but they don't fit together that well if you put them together. If you really want to I'll bug my gf about what it is exactly since she's a trained and can usually explain this kind of stuff in the correct musical terms. I'm just a bad drummer / good sound engineer. =D
4:55~ is OMG I LOVE IT again. However, it doesn't fit. It just feels off. Just compare the break at 2:45 with the one at 4.55. Those sound like they're from entirely different songs. Does it come across what I'm trying to say?
PS: What programs are you using for this? :>
Edit: lolol, just threw a random "What do you think of this?" to my gf on the bed and the answer I got was "Sounds kinda weird, is that just one song or a medley?" ... That's kinda the exact description I was looking for. :S

i went into this thinking "just some ammature mixer who prob isnt that good"

10/10
