So I'm really thinking about buying a mechanical keyboard! Not sure if i want brown/blue or red switches since i have tested neither:
http://www.webhallen.com/hardvara/144849-qpad_mk-50_pro_gaming_mechanical_keyboard Saw this keyboard that seems really good at a reasonable price. Does anyone know if you can ''test'' it at webhallen or someplace, so i could see what the different switches feel like? Reading about it helps alot, but i think i would benefit way more from actually feeling it ^^.
Also at the main website you can order the keyboard with any switches you want http://www.corporate.qpad.se/modules/news/article.php?storyid=252. Does anyone know what switches you get with the one you order at webhallen (it doesn't say -.-')
If anyone has the keyboard i would also love to hear your thoughts about it .

It's fucking hard to find a MX Red-based keyboard with French layout.
So far the only one I found is the Qpad but I don't like the "QPAD Pro-Gaming Gear" label on it and the "Q" on the space bar. Also, having "Suppr arrière" written on the backspace key, and "Entrée" on the main enter key but "Enter" on the numpad one hurts my eyes (see layout).
I've sent an email to the Keyboard Co. asking them if they will release French MX Red keyboards but if they don't it's gonna be a tossup between a Filco w/ MX Browns and the QPAD. :/
Edit: Forgot about the Corsair K60. It's annoying to have the F keys and some others with rubber dome switches though. :/

For anyone considering to buy a Leopold keyboard: The legends on mine have almost completely faded on the wasd keys after just a month of use. If this is a big deal for you, you probably shouldn't get a Leopold.

I have a leopold and mine are faded but still perfectly legible. I use my keyboard for multiple hours a day, every day too.
Edit: I have had this keyboard for over 7 months also.

MK-50 has everything you want - just deal with the text -_- who cares about it anyway, you can throw the rest in the trashcan and buy custom keycaps

Lol, according to this guy you shouldn't get a keyboard at all then. If you want non-fading caps, hate to break it to you, but you'll have to buy custom made ones, doubleshot or engraved pbt, which won't come on any keyboard pretty much.

I have never had keycaps fade this quickly on any keyboard before. It is not normal for legends to fade completely after less then a month of use. Particularly not if that keyboard cost alot of money. The fact that you are laughing out loud at that is pretty ridiculous.

Yo guys, i need help with buying a new mechanical keyboard. Its key layout need to be as standard as possible "Das Keyboard is a good example". I don't need macro keys, it's even a minus in my preference. I prefer responsiveness over noise quality, but if it's both responsive and quite, that would be great. I'm currently thinking between Steelseries 6Gv2/7G and the DAS keyboard. If you guys have any other suggestions, pls do tell me. Big Cheers
Edit: Since i'm one of those "night gaming" gamer, if it also has a backlightning, that would be nice (though those quality above are still the first priority)
Edit2: what are the differences between steelseries 6gv2 and 7g?

The 6gv2 is just a cutdown variant of the 7g. I think Filcos, Leopolds, and Corsair Vengeance are all more appealing options than the shitty Steelseries and Das.

Hi TL.net, I live in europe and I've been looking around for a site where I can order a mechanical keyboard that ships to the Netherlands. I dont have much free time on my hand and so far I wasnt able to find anything... My budget is about 80 - 110 euros and I'm looking for any mechanical keyboard with Brown switches with a shipping time that is < 5 work days. I would be very happy if someone could help me

Getting my Corsair K60 today, pretty excited . Hope that I like the cherry reds. My friend has a blackwidow ultimate, and I really do not like blues, they feel really weird and the tactile click halfway through is kind of annoying. I haven't tried any other types of switches, but it always seemed like blacks would be ideal (though I was hesitant about people saying the force required was too much). Hopefully the reds are a happy medium, being the more light weight blacks.
Also, what is the deal with damn macro keys? I really dislike them as they throw off my feel for where the end of a keyboard is at. I honestly can't think of any gaming scenario that I would want to use them (and actually have it be a legal use). I would have sprung for the K90 to get the back lighting (more for aesthetically appeal) and the longer wrist pad, but macro keys are just so damn annoying...

Guess what I found in the storage closet of my office today?
SICK hp mechanical keyboard, used but still in good shape, I looked up the model number and apparently it's from 1999. Hot damn, what a way to start the workweek. I'll post pics when I get a chance, probably later in this week.
Needless to say, I hustled that out of the office so fast that I don't think I've ever walked out faster.
