So what have I learned over the past three reeses? Thirty thousand calories of fat and sugar have ultimately caused at least twenty people I know to increase their risk of diabetes. Incredible success!
Alright. The first attempt was a complete disaster near the end. It turns out that chocolate doesn't set well when mixed with water. What you end up making even with a tiny bit of water is a gelatin like substance that will never set. That's why it was so dark the previous time. Additionally I am lead to believe adding water increases the melting temperature of the chocolate.
The second attempt also worked really well however it seems the dough consistency didn't taste completely like Reeses. When confronted with this accusation I immediately increased the amount of sugar since apparently what makes things tasty is... more sugar.
Four cups of confectionary sugar
Two heaping tablespoons of peanut butter
One cup of graham cracker crumbs
Two tablespoons of butter
The third attempt was yummy! One thing I learned though was that while it might be appetizing one giant problem of having an enormous reeses is that you don't get the chocolate, dough, chocolate layering effect, too large to fit in your mouth and mix at one time.
I hope to learn from my mistakes here and head on to the next challenge,
Giant Kit-Kat bar.
