Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly: - NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever. Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

But Leenock played Naniwa as youre supposed to play Naniwa. Gratz to Leenock and hope to see more of him in the future and hopefully he's such cheesing because I was a fan of him before that series but now not so much anymore. yes, his two base all ins should have won every match, but they didn't. Leenock deserved that win more than Naniwa He beat him 4-1 AFTER beating just about every top tier pro in the tourny for 3 days straight.

There are always 2 players affecting the game what would be a proper build to beat FFE every game and show 'championship games' ? Leenock played great, I'm very happy for him

The player who deserved to win is the player who successfully navigated both the game and the tournament format, and playing appropriately to win every match he needed to, including the finals. In other words, the guy who deserves to win is the guy who won. I hate this whole "Well, he lost but he really deserved to win." You're like the LA Dodgers fans I used to know as a kid who despite their team losing every year, would say shit like "Well, LA is really the better team. . ." No he didn't. He lost. Leenock didn't cheat. Naniwa just lost.

I'm scouring the brackets trying to find when Nani and Leenock first played (and Leenock won 2-1 apparently?) but I can't find it anywhere. It's double elimination. So in the finals Leenock had to win the first Bo3 played.

Double Elimination made the final two Bo3's and Naniwa only needed to win one. He lost the first one. The second started and because of the, in this case even more, ridiculous extended series rule the second Bo3 was a Bo7 starting with the result of the first Bo3.

It's not. This MLG Naniwa alone probably beat as many high quality players as Huk in his whole Code S career and people still doubt him? WTF?

The format needs to be changed though, having a seed should not give you such an advantage over OB players. People who have come to pretty much every MLG, and consistently perform well, should not be rewarded? Really?

Now looking at it even more carefully in hindsight, I wouldn't even criticize Leenock at all, he exploited an obvious weakness that naniwa refused to fix. Hell, if you do a build over and over and over again, you better make sure its cheese proof; no cheese proof builds are called risks that you take here and there which naniwa just did every single time. Congratulations to leenock. Seriously, the kid is amazing.
