Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:

- NO Balance Whine.
- NO Player Bashing.
- NO Caster Bashing.
- NO BM whatsoever.

Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

I think that Naniwa should have won the tournament considering he played the best out of everyone at the tournament and if you think that Leenock played better than Naniwa at the tournament then you obviously don't know much about sc2. But Leenock played Naniwa as youre supposed to play Naniwa. Gratz to Leenock and hope to see more of him in the future and hopefully he's such cheesing because I was a fan of him before that series but now not so much anymore.

I was going to post something similar, but I'll just repost the above.

I promote smart play. Leenock played smart, and Nani did the same thing again and again. This is why I prefer a longer series as it promotes diversity in play, and time for the opponents to catch on to one build order wonders. Although Leenock only needed one game to test the waters.

Therefore I loved the finals regardless how short it was! (It was getting rather late in the UK, so I didn't mind.) My mates were all on mumble chatting and joking around whilst we all watched the stream. I can admit we booed Naniwa in the comfort of our own home. To say the least I was routing for Leenock, because Naniwa.... I don't know what it is, he's just not very likeable. His interviews on stage, the way he called MLG a joke tournament, I disliked him from then on I'm afraid, regardless of how good is.

I'm glad he apologised, but he can't let the emotions get the better of him everytime. The players need to learn how to act in front of people/fans/organisers, because as SC2 get's more awareness, more popular. The mob mentality will increase and when someone does or says something bad, expect some backlash.

However I'm also slightly glad that he became a villain. It created that drama pantomine, sometimes it is required to create a good story. You need villains before you can have heroes. Unfortunately for Naniwa, he made a good villain, at least in my eyes and my friends eyes.

Many thansk to MLG organiser and all that are involved. Best tournament I've watched so far.

People just need to stop whining about allins or chees. this is competative gaming, the first prize was 50kusd right?

This is not "20min no rush game", if you think that go play custom with the other noobs. Sc2 skill is not determaind only when a game gets passed 3 base.

I know guys like Idra think that if you dont let me get 3 base and 100drones then you are cheesing because there are no skill in winning a game earlier then that. but that is just one way of playing.

some players are just better and more comfortable with early pressure. if they can win with that then that is what matters.

Learn to deal with it, its part of the game.

Lennock played epic and deserved to win, even though I was really really hoping Naniwa could win it all. He still did a epic tourney and won MLG GI. not bad for a foreigner!

wow, if that doesnt show korean dominance i dont know what does. Im curious if the foreigners started from the open tournament like the koreans did, and would hit each other and other good koreans earlier on, how the top8 would look

This talent vs training thing is old. Training is the most important, but talent will give you a slight edge. It's just like studying at school, some dudes don't even need to study and still get A quite easily, some others study really hard to get A.

but that's just an extreme simplyfication. The same guys that hardly have to learn are always the ones that participate the most in classes and often times know things about the school topics before they are being taught. So imo it is always purely a result of learnings, even though some education (parenting, attitudes like diligence...) clearly give a person advanteges that another person might never be able to catch up to. - which people then call "talent", while it is simply a result of learnings

This is behaviourism and in this pure form it's been given up on long ago. Genetics play a large role, both in shaping your personality and things like your IQ.

Nope, tabula rasa.

[Radical] behaviourism didn't even look at unobservable constructs like "intelligence"

Intelligence is a physical trait, defined by certain traits of our neurons, that as far as I know include the speed in which they can send action potentials and how many connections they can have to other neurons.
I've just started my phsycobiloogy B.S. (I think it's called bachelor of science degree) a few weeks ago, and there's a lot of material about how our genetics effect our personality and abilities.
It is a really interesting subject

Anyway - I would much rather have Naniwa win, Protoss, foreigner and all, but out of all the koreans in the event (MC excluded), and a lot of foreigners too, Leenock was a big favorite of mine, he showed such a big heart and he really deserves this

So is it really MVP and Nestea the best sc2 players? Or its just the fact that in GSL they always have a week or more to prepare with their coaches for a specific matchup against a specific opponent and during that time, they can analyze the shit out of their next opponet and prepare alot?

MVP got top 4 coming out of the open bracket and has already won the only other MLG he participated in. Oh, and he won Blizzcon too. If that isn't evidence enough he can put a beatdown on everyone even without time to prepare for each match, I don't know what is.

Great tournament, and a real shame for Naniwa. I think his forge expand build was tailored perfectly to the current top-level pro meta where greedy play so often goes unpunished, and that if he'd met anyone other than Leenock in the final he would've won with ease. That said it was interesting to see Leenok just sit back and say "if you fast expand then I am going to stop expanding and come at you with everything I have". By game 5 his roach rush basically hard countered Naniwa's build.

If Naniwa played the best out of everyone he would have won the tournament. You can't play better than your opponent if you lose, simple as that.

What's the best way to be safe against Roach all-ins with FFE?

I mean, when you open with the exact same FFE build every game, even on maps like XNC and Dual Sight, and you DON'T put down extra cannons after your opponent has roach rushed you EVERY game... how do you play better? Lol the fanboyism in this thread is astounding.

What should Leenock have done differently? Not punish Naniwa? It's $50k on the line, not a show match.

It's Silly how much bashing for Leenock there is in this thread as a "cheeser"
Who's fault is it there Leenock induced high pressure, semi-all-inish play every game on Naniwa?
The player who did the same greedy build every game/every map, a strategy that's deadly when it goes unpunished or the player who scouted and reacted to it? It would be a complete different story if Leenock did blind rushes, which he only did for 1 game but even then, Naniwa had done the same build time and time again throughout the entire tournament so it was a good calculated risk by Leenock.

Or... proper probe/zealot scouting. There's a drastic difference between making 1-2 zealots just to scout, and doing Nani's 6 zealot build every game without extra cannons.

MVP so handsome. Deciding he has already earned too much money this year, going easy on Leenock. /joke

When i look at what i wrote yesterday to a friend when watching Leenock vs. Mvp, then i get the feeling, that Leenock deserves this win.

Umm results are very skewed, because so many foreigners were seeded.
