Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:

- NO Balance Whine.
- NO Player Bashing.
- NO Caster Bashing.
- NO BM whatsoever.

Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment.

But Leenock played Naniwa as youre supposed to play Naniwa. Gratz to Leenock and hope to see more of him in the future and hopefully he's such cheesing because I was a fan of him before that series but now not so much anymore.

If Naniwa played the best out of everyone he would have won the tournament. You can't play better than your opponent if you lose, simple as that.

I mean, when you open with the exact same FFE build every game, even on maps like XNC and Dual Sight, and you DON'T put down extra cannons after your opponent has roach rushed you EVERY game... how do you play better? Lol the fanboyism in this thread is astounding.

What should Leenock have done differently? Not punish Naniwa? It's $50k on the line, not a show match.

I think this MLG has also proven IMMVP to be the true final boss of all tournaments...
There's practically an unwritten rule that goes something like:
"The One who's able to knock out MVP out of a tournament, foreign or international, shall be granted immortality status and win the tournament"

It happened with
MMA vs MVP in GSL
Naniwa vs MVP MLG: GI
Leenock vs MVP MLG: Providence

So MMA going on to win GSL after beating MVP proves what exactly?

So is it really MVP and Nestea the best sc2 players? Or its just the fact that in GSL they always have a week or more to prepare with their coaches for a specific matchup against a specific opponent and during that time, they can analyze the shit out of their next opponet and prepare alot?

man check out those graphs, mvp and nestea had amazing runs. Only leenock and prolly marineking had better or similar runs, they played a crazy amount of games with crazy good players.
Anyways each type of competition favorizes a different type of player. is the better player the one that can run the gauntlet or the one that given time will dismantle his opponents?

It just sounds funny when that guy was in the final, as opposed to going back through a whole tournament and noting the person who knocked MVP out, and oh funnily enough they went on to win the whole thing. Can't really go on to win the GSL after already winning it.

It's just a cute observation.

Wow Just saw the vods from Nani vs DRG on and Im so happy for Leenock, thats a real grind he had from the open bracket all the way through the grand finals. and he's only what...like 16? and already 50k prizemoney gratz! BoSs must be really proud.

Also the hate for Leenock is really disgustin, I mean he read Naniwa like abook and its Naniwa's own fault to go nexus first every game.

It's funny because I've seen a lot of similar but reversed posts in this thread.

There will be people calling Naniwa cheesy, there will be people calling Leenock cheesy. Whichever you chose to react upon is very likely decided by your bias for one player or the other.

Objectivity doesn't reign supreme, subjectivity does.

Now i didn't see the last series between Leenock and Naniwa. But i saw how awesome Leenock played the whole tournament. Leenock is a fantastic player, he came all the way from the open bracket and he defeated big names.

He even stomped MVP!

He deserved the victory 100%!!

Man that guy has potential :D

Great final Pro Circuit Event, now i just hope next year MLG to be back better in all regards, better format, better prize distribuition, better circuit, they already improved so much over the year with the broadcast and downtime, there is still a way to improve too.

Go MLG you can do it, you can be a much greater event. Just don't be content with your current success! Improve!

I saw almost every games that was streamed. That being said I was wondering what happened to the Ghosts? Maybe I mist every game that had Ghosts in it, but I really think there was not even one Ghost in the entire tournament. Did anybody else notice that? And why is that. I mean sure the EMP nerf maybe the reason for no ghosts in tvp, but why not in tvz?

I am biased for naniwa but i think lennock played fine. He was not more cheesy then anyone els. Early pressure or allin is as much chees as being super greedy. You take a chance to end the game, does not matter if you go for early units to win strait up, or early eco to win when it kicks in.

When its 50kusd for first prize its not a freaking contest who can macro the best. You play to win simple as that.

If you don't think that Naniwa played better than Leenock in all the other games in the tournament I don't know what to say about your brain cells. BUT Leenock out-smarted Naniwa in the games that mattered.

Leenock played to win and deserved the victory, BUT, like White Ra said after being cheesed 3 games in a row by MC in the Dreamhack invitational "that was championship match, not championship games"

Grats Leenock, I think he could take GSL after watching that.

Research Hallucination right away?

there is none, (build a core AND research hallu first, will more kill than help you)

except:
going blind for 3 cannons - what is retarded, or
scout it early and having a highground advantage like on shakuras plateau. and even then, it depends on seconds and you need micro without mistakes.

btw, an awful map for this and for toss expanding at all, is xelnaga caverns.

but what made me "i can't believe what i see" was Leenocks 7 pool.
Leenock never got punished for it, and Naniwa was allgame long in heavy defense mode. and behind. allthough Naniwa scouted it and did not do any mistakes. at least i didnt noticed any.

anyway
congratulations Leenock!

and what a great tournament. great games and castings.
best SC2 game of aaaaaaall time: vibe vs avilo (don't miss the end!!): https://youtu.be/mygH92WzKV4
