You also have to consider there are other people (such as myself) that dislike seeing Protech (or other streamers) on the featured list. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose
Well, yeah I do get your point. However, if he dosen't get many viewers he wont be online as much, and we then loose the one and only 2v2 stream worth watching (which is also streaming ALOT!).
For you 1v1 fans you have sooooo many options. In addtion alot of those featured 1v1 have hours and hours of VODs. Sure Irie has commented on a few protech vids on youtube, but thats far from the same...
|
i think its unfair to set the same rules (e.g. 300 viewers average) for 1v1 and 2v2 streams.
its obvious that 2v2 isnt as famous as 1v1. so in terms of 2v2 or team games - protech's stream is still way far ahead of all the others!
if u unfeature him, you are also unfeaturing 2v2 as a complete different game/mod.
and i think this would be sad because 2v2 has gained quite some popularity recently if u saw how many pro gamers & top 2v2 teams competed in the first and in the second season of the PTSL tournament.
for commited 1v1 gamers its all just a nice change for a moment here and there. but for commited 2v2 or team game players its their main reason to play sc2.
and if u saw the tournaments u should know its quite needed to be a 'real' 2v2 team and not just 2 random good individual players.
so for me the 2v2 scene deserves more respect than it gets right now.
and by defeaturing the by far most famous team game stream of the whole sc2 community you're defenitely doin the exact opposite.

Personally i'd like to see Fuzer back on the featured list.
Easily one of the best Finnish Terrans, constantly posts good online results and his Terran on an almost global scale is extremely impressive to watch.

EDIT: Also TypePhoeNix is really fun to watch and imo should be featured. sYz too.

I'm trying really hard, but I cannot for the life of me see Pro7ect's name on the list of featured BW streams. =/ Which is very weird.

"Featured" streamer here for well over a year.
At this point you might as well get rid of the whole featured / non-featured distinction altogether. The truth of the matter is that average streamers like myself cannot compete with big names such as Idra / Stephano; so pretty much everyone else gets just a few hundred viewers or less when those guys are already streaming.
But the problem is everyone streams when they want to. You cannot have a schedule like a TV station where you decide when people stream so that overall you're always providing "featured" content.
My suggestion is to simply remove the "featured" system and replace it with "top ten or top 15 most viewed streams at any given time".
Otherwise by removing all regular streamers who can't compete with big names you will eventually end up with alot of hours during the day when you have less than 3 or no featured streams at all.
|
So basically everyone in the featured player list has to be very famous in the community. Because with the possible exception of two names, everyone else is a whos-who of SC2 regardless of whether or not they've had results yet. Obviously every decision you have made thus far has been on the basis of viewer count (stemming from notoriety), thats fine if thats the direction TL feels is best on a community-driven site (I don't, but w/e), but don't list skill level/tournament results/contribution/activity in your list in the site changed thread as though you are giving those factors weight when its plainly obvious that weight is very, very light indeed.

I'd be interested in to why ViBE has been defeatured, he had some good MLG runs this year, has been in seasons 1 and 2 of the NASL. Ive scene him with some decent numbers viewer wise, and he has a fun stream to watch. :0
|
I don't see TotalBiscuit up there at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong and blind.
I would assume his channel will still be featured considering he not only runs his own tournament but has a show based on starcraft and streams his own games of starcraft, etc.

Megumixbear was also removed a few weeks ago but there's no mention of it here despite the reasoning supposedly being her lack of notable tournament results as per these new rules?

oh wow, why would you remove sYz.
|
|
I have nothing extra to add as the points have already been made but would like to add my voice to the people who think that Protech should be featured again.

Axslav and iNcontrol featured, Ranged and Response not featured :| wooooooooooooooooooooot

No.... no Hashe???
That makes me sad. Hashe's stream was pulling in 500 viewers regularly, a lot more than some of the streamers currently featured. Yes, he hasn't had any major tournament results, but hashe is still a top NA grandmaster terran.... Plus the guy is super active, he is streaming nearly every night for 4+ hours.
Please re feature Hashe
|
I love the fact that the featured list was cleaned up, but I believe Hashe deserves to still be featured. He might not be very notable or have tournament results yet, but he is very skilled, has a fairly good viewer count (600-1000 I believe) and is quite active with his streaming.
On a side note, given that some other users might have their own preferences too, maybe it would be possible to add an option to "track" a player's stream, that is effectively make them featured just for your own account, so it's easy to see when they are streaming in the sidebar.

why remove syz :<<<<<<<<<<
he has been in korea then france for iesf and escw thats why he was not streaming he does well in cups he is the only portuguese "pro" player :< why remove ;s
this is just looking like the crap popularity map system in bnet xP

i was watching some of the streams that have been defeatured, and i will not watch them again, because it's annoying to look for them in the 50+ list of unfeatured. they will also probably not stream as much as well.
|
I'd like to put in another word for Attero, for the reasons mentioned above, and also for race balancing issues. As a protoss player, there are often few or no protoss players streaming. Desrow and Attero are often the only featured protoss streams going, and frankly I prefer watching Attero. Although the new race icons will help alot as I will be able to browse the non-featured streams much more easily.
Thank you

I do think this is a really smart idea. But I would like the featured streamers to stay, plus ~3 currently most viewed non-featured at the bottom of this list. That would be a good way for people to show their appreciation for new interesting streamers and newly de-featured streamers to get them (re)featured and is a more realtime/immediate and direct/democratic way to arrange the list.
Also I think that 2v2 games will be a vivid part of Starcraft, once casters figure out how to present them easily understandable for viewers.

I dont agree with this lists. e.g:merz He is pretty good but there are better players/ no noticable achievements + he almost never streams. Good players like tarson are still feautured but they don't stream either. or the whole zenex team - they streamed for 3 days and then they stopped - why are they still feautured.
You kick regulars like Phoenix or Fuzer and many others in the face with this new regulation. They have always arround 500 viewers and put a lot of time into streaming and they do really well in the daily cups. Can you please tell me why you remove them but leave merz and the zenex team in the list?
