It may be that people like Milkis are in the majority. Actually, it probably is so. We on the internet tend to forget that the informal rules that we've developed are not actually social convention. What people here see as normal a person unacquainted with internet culture probably sees as insane. How many times do we mock 4chan? But for channers, imageboard conventions are as natural as the breeze. Everyone can do it, it just involves rational thought and the realization of two things: 1. More people like you than hate you? How so? Because otherwise you wouldn't have a potential job at MLG, people wouldn't be following you on Twitter and because you provide useful information (if you didn't, you wouldn't have these opportunities). That's #1 and even there are more haters than people who like you? Why would it matter and why quit over things people dislike? They're not going to stop disliking you but you will lose the respect of people who liked you (because you're a quitter and removing yourself from someplace that's needed and silently appreciated) 2. People will always hate because it's hate. It's easy to dismiss people based on their mistakes than take the time to realize the global scale of what they're doing can do. To give them the attention is to give more attention and care than what they give to you. You're also acknowledging their quick and swift dislike for you and emphasizing their truth, despite how little effort and forethought they actually put. Those are two major points for starters. Everyone can suck it up and live it out, they just need to grow a bit of backbone and stay where they feel safe and wanted. Don't you wonder why a lot of professionals DONT post on the forums? There's a reason for that.

Regardless of his super bias , which was at times very annoying , he actually was a nice translator, not really the best live translator , but i did apreciate his korean responses threads and posts, i liked those. Good luck to him in the future.

Maybe you just shouldn't scroll through all the live raport spamshit threads or where did you find this hate? At least I've never personally had any complaints over your work, never thought of you as a professional translator either and rather just a guy filling in where needed. Anyway if you're really quitting just because of some minoritys hate(the same minority that hates everyone and everything) thats pretty disappointing, wish you at least had a good reason.

You know that thread you made... do you believe it? About how you think Brood War is more valid Than others, but the way that you wrote it it really sounded Like you didn't know better, like your judgdment was clouded But now it's too late; you've made a thread and it's resounded And all we wanted was a lousy clarification of it all But instead you took your Twitter and your Reddit off the wall We love you Milkis, we coulda been together, think about it You ruined it now, I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you scream about it I hope your conscience eats at you and you can't breathe without me See Milkis; [*screaming*] Shut up bitch! There's a reason for that. Everyone could be a physicist, by taking the right steps. You don't even have to be particularly rich or talented. The difficult part is finding the inspiration to do so. I'm not saying that people who can thrive here are somehow special; just that some of the reactions to this are just tunnel vision. For Milkis, chances are where he feels safe and wanted isn't anywhere near Starcraft (or games; if I'm thinking of the right person, I think he burned out of Pokemon in the same way )

Pleaseeeeee don't go. You have been a part of this community for too long to let some stupid fucks stop you. Your translations are my single most appreciated thing that ANYONE in this community does. Where else can we get the best translations from Fomos and news from KR??! I can't believe people would EVER speak badly about you. Clearly they are stupid and ignorant, our community is not made up of these kind of people! They are a vocal minority that can make it hard for people who are more skilled, more devoted, and more awesome than they are. People who talk shit about others work have never put in a good amount of work in their life. Anyone who has worked hard at something they believe in has respect for you, and everything you do. Don't let some stupid assholes ruin your fun, and your personal self image. I wish I had been more vocal about my support for you, it hurts to see a post like this from such a respected and revered member of our community. Please! Don't go!!
