Beneather's banned game count has been reduced to 1 with werewolves being over Bans/warnings from Personality Mafia: (thanks GMarshal!) BloodyC0bbler - 2 games DoctorHelvectica VisceraEyes youngminii Kurumi - warning Then redFF and Monsterdrakar have been removed (I'm just going to assume whatever game they sat out has finished - it's been a month). VisceraEyes then got modkilled again in XLIV. No punishment was discussed for him, but I'm still not 100% sure what we do when someone is already on the ban list and then gets banned again. Right now I'm gong to write him down as getting the bigger of the two bans (so 3 games) and we can talk about it. Cosmic Horror Mafia: Erandorr Sevryn Kurumi - turns into 2 games because of his warning from Personality Mafia (warning removed) Kurumi then sat out MLP Mafia - banned game count reduced to 1 LOTR Mafia: xtfftc - warning Navillus - warning chaos13 DoctorHelvetica - he has the same problem as VisceraEyes, so as a placeholder I'm doing the same thing I did before JeeJee - second ban, so 3 games Chaos13 - you can't sit out XLV unless it starts after the game you were modkilled in (LOTR Mafia) has finished. It doesn't appear that this will be the case. Mr. Zergling - your sitout is noted This should make the ban list up to date except for the discussion of Bill Murray which is coming in a moment.

First, let me start with the summary of his history because there was confusion about it and most of this was written when these events were happening, so they should have more context than a summary written now would. Original Message From Qatol: Just thought I should let you know that apparently Meapak and RoL had another problem with him last night, but he seems to have calmed down for now. Thanks for dealing with this for us. [01:58] Ver: even after being warned not to spam [01:58] Ver: he still has [01:58] Ver: about [01:58] Ver: 10% [01:59] Ver: of total posts [01:59] Ver: .... Finally, Meapak and RoL had enough and they modkilled him. He has taken his protests to PM and the Ban List thread, starting here While the circumstances surrounding BM's most recent ban were definitely a little tenuous (he was definitely provoked into his final blowup), his actions leading up to his ban and immediately after his ban were completely unacceptable, which is why the gryffindor account was banned, removing his access from this forum. This PM which I have quoted was written in March. So it has been approximately 6 months since this most recent incident. However, from the responses I have seen both in this thread and via PM ever since BM asked to be reinstated, it seems that a most people are either still hurt by his actions or haven't been around long enough to know exactly what happened. Most people who remember BM's actions are advocating a continued ban, and this is a sentence the community really has to buy into otherwise the animosity surrounding BM will remain when we lift the ban. Therefore, I do not believe that lifting the ban is appropriate at this time. However, I don't feel it is fair to him to leave him in limbo about when he can come back. Therefore, I suggest that we leave him banned for now, but allow him to come back at a set time, which I am currently proposing to be January 1, 2012 (so approximately 9 months from his last ban). The exact date is, of course, up for argument and my successors can manage that debate as they see fit. Regardless, this way he doesn't have to keep making these appeals and getting insulted/shot down but having no other way to be reinstated. I will let my successors handle this discussion after this, but I hope they seriously consider the material I have written here.

In no particular order: Mig, Mr. Wiggles, deconduo, iGrok, redFF, Greymist, wherebugsgo. Of course this would not be the mafia forum without proper elections! As usual you may cast your vote by typing ##Vote: Foolishness. Elections will end in a little under 2 days, at 8pm pdt. Anyone who has played in a game of mafia on TL may vote. ##vote Mig!! The rest of this post is going to detail the majority of the changes that will be taking place on TL Mafia. There are a few things that have not been discussed yet and a few items where a clear decision has not been made. For the banlist: flamewheel (as new head moderator) will be making a new TL Mafia ban list thread, and this thread will be locked. We are also changing the format of how bans work. There will now be two separate ban lists: one for inactivity bans and one for behavior bans. Inactivity bans are going to work pretty much the same as we have been doing bans all along. However, behavior bans will now be receiving time bans instead of game bans. In the beginning this will probably work on a case by case scenario until we have some general guidelines for how long the bans should be. Right now the default time ban will be 3 weeks. Of course this is subject to change, but 3 weeks is roughly equal for the time it takes to do one normal game (a little less than a week for signups, 2ish weeks to run the game). The banning and removing yourself from the ban list will work slightly different as well. The hosts of the game are going to play a bigger role to make the ban list moderator's (flamewheel and Mig) job easier. This will all be explained in detail once the thread is created (or in this topic in the near future). Qatol will be keeping the "Model OP" topic as it is. We are revamping the format to make it easier to read and more accommodating to the hosts. Check out the bottom half of this post for a general idea of what the new format will be like. The new OP will not be quite that simple, but the idea in that post will be carried out. Please refer to the model OP thread if you have ideas or concerns about the model OP. The TL Mafia Library thread will be changing administration. In order to facilitate a more regularly updated library, dreamflower will become the new TL Mafia Library administrator. We will be making some slight formatting changes to make the library easier to read as well. As with the ban list, dreamflower will make a new topic and we will lock the old one. Our goal is to keep the library updated to make it easier for players to look through past games. chaoser will still have control over the general direction and flow of the library and everyone may still refer to him about the library. That is all for the updates. Since this did not cover everything related to the mafia forum, it is safe to assume that if a topic was not covered (such as the queue) then we have either not discussed it yet or not come to a decision (and thus seeking input from more people). Of course, please post your thoughts and ideas about what I've stated above or entirely different issues!

Good luck everything Qatol. Foolishness it all sounds good, but I sent you a PM about why are we still not using a generic account for important OP's like the banlist, library, etc. If we are redoing it all we should redo it correctly so we don't run into this problem again and have to remake every other thread.

I dunno if I necessarily agree on the January first date, but I suppose we can see what others think. It just seems like he hasn't learned and isn't going to change anytime soon so why are we giving him chances when he clearly demonstrates no change in the problematic attitude. Generally speaking, past behavior is the greatest indicator of future behavior, and he literally hasn't given us one reason to think he has substantially changed or somehow will within the next 3 months. That date was just a filler. It is definitely still up in the air until Flamewheel says otherwise. The main point was just to say that it really isn't fair to leave him in limbo forever and to provoke discussion on figuring out a date when the community would be willing to give him another chance to prove himself. If you don't think it is appropriate, please suggest another date/method of determining when to allow him back.

I'm not up for BM coming back unless he publicly apologizes and owns up to, in this thread, all the wrongs that he has previous done. You can see in his appeals to be reinstated that he is still skirting the blame on others and not really admitting that: 1) His actions were not only in the wrong but that he hurt and mistreated a lot of the players and hosts in this subforum 2) He has acted in a detrimental way Until he says he's sorry and owns up to every single problem he's ever stirred up I don't feel comfortable with letting him back. I want a legit apology letter post.

Point being, I don't care if he apologizes, until he somehow convinces me he's not a complete loser anymore.

All a forced apology does it try to embarrass someone and try to make the receiving party feel empowered. At the end of the day nothing really changes within the one apologizing unless he means it, at which point who needs an apology? It's just shallow to make them apologize if they know and understand what they did was wrong. Point being, I don't care if he apologizes, until he somehow convinces me he's not a complete loser anymore. If they can't even admit it to other people then they can't admit it to themselves. An apology means humility. Being forced to apologize is a small step on the road to being less of a dick. It's a permanent statement from him saying that he fucked up and he'll never do it again. It's formal. If he fucks up again there's no getting out of it. Obviously the ultimate goal is for him to be less of a dick but I want him to apologize first. If he can't even bring himself to write an apology then I doubt he will be able to bring him to be less of an abrasive person.
