Introduction:
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account / looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox.
6. Posting any PM you receive from a host.
7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.

Mod Font:
This is mod font. It is reserved for moderators. Please do not use it.
Question Font:
This is question font. Use it to ask the moderators questions about the rules.
Activity:
You must post in this thread once per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled.
Spam:
Spam is not tolerated, nor is any off-topic material. Do not discuss Proleague here. Do not talk about Starcraft II here. Play Mafia here.
Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything
Inappropriate posts:
If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate.

Voting rules:
1. Voting is done (in a separate thread, located *NOT MADE YET*). When you vote, you must ALSO post in the main thread saying your vote. This is to keep the game in the game, while also making vote tally's more manageable. Do not PM me your vote.
2. Please vote in the following format: ##Vote: Qatol. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update vote counts whenever I get the chance.
3. No conditional voting.
4. You may vote for yourself. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. In the event of a tie the person with the most votes first wins (or loses).
6. Voting is mandatory. You may NOT abstain.
Signups:
This game is open to anyone. Preference will be given to experienced players. Signups will remain open until all 30 spots have been filled.

Modkills:
This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment.
Clues:
There are no clues.
PMs
PMs are allowed in this game.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a (24 hour night/48 hour) day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is time, but that is subject to change.

Role List
Vanilla Townie:
Each day you may vote for which player you would like to lynch. Good luck.
Medic:
During each night phase you may protect a player. If the amount of hits exceeds the amount of protections on a player they will die. You may NOT protect yourself. If you successfully protect someone both will be notified of the protection.
Cop:
Each night you may check to see the alignment of a player.
Detective:
Each night you may check to see the role of a player.
Vigilante:
Starting night 2 you may choose to shoot a player of your choice. You have one bullet. If your hit overlaps with a mafia or mad hatter, their hit supersedes yours and you get your bullet back. If you are role blocked you do NOT lose your bullet.
Mad Hatter:
At night you may choose to PLACE or MOVE one of your two bombs. When you die you flip a switch setting off your bomb(s). Each bomb is worth 1 KP. If someone is veteran or protected they do NOT die. If a target gets lynched or killed with a bomb on them you will lose that bomb. If you are role blocked and killed your bombs will NOT go off.
Veteran:
Due to your experience you have an extra night life. It takes 2 successful hits on your life to kill you. If you are lynched, you die either way. If you are role blocked you will lose your night life temporarily during that night phase.
Miller:
Get PM of being town. A Detective returns Town, while a cop returns red
Mafia Grunt:
You must outnumber or equal the town to win. Your mafia buddies are:
Godfather: Night 1 mafia must choose their Godfather(s). The godfather(s) will then choose what role/alignment they will appear as for rest of the game. If not chosen will be RNG'd. The Godfather is worth 1KP.
The mafia in this game will have several powers. The way it works will not be shown, when a mafia flips it will not show what power they have if any, apart from godfather status.
Mafia powers:
Cover: Cost .5KP makes a player appear as townie 1 night cycle.
Frame: Cost .5KP makes a player appear as mafia for 1 night cycle.
Roleblock: Cost .5KP blocks a player from using his power during that night. Player is notified of being role blocked.
Role Reverser: Cost 1.0KP Reverses the power of a role. Medic kills with a protect, Cop returns opposite alignment. Detective returns alignment. Vigilante hits self, mad hatter will RNG a new target. Veterans die if they are visited by anyone. Players are not told they got reversed.
All powers can be used MULTIPLE times in a night as long as the mafia has the requisite KP.

Current mafia KP Cumulative The way the mafia KP works is that each member represents .5KP while the Godfather is worth 1KP. The current power scheme requires that they sacrifice KP in order to use their power.

Here is a small tip. If you can't tell by the set up. This game is designed so you fuckers have to learn to use PM's properly or get royally screwed. This game is ALSO designed to emphasize behavior analysis over EVERYTHING. This IS punishment for Salem Mafia.
