I played through the game first with English voices, then went online to listen to some of the original voice acting. I actually prefer the English voices, probably because I got used to it haha.

In fact, I think Teddies English voice really matches well with the Japanese voice. He's exactly how I imagine him to sound like in English, lol. Btw, thanks again for streaming Angra, looking forward to more whenever you play again.

I played the undub too. My Japanese is decent, but nowhere near fluent enough to play an RPG easily (I minored in it in college, did study abroad there, passed the JLPT level 3). Hearing Teddie's Japanese voice and the English "translations" of his lines made me feel like the translation virtually gutted his character. None of his jokes worked in English directly translated so they were mostly replaced for the worse, and just the general way he spoke didn't translate either. The best example that I can't forget is when you meet him and ask who he is. Japanese: "Kuma wa kuma kuma!" English: "I'm Teddie!" Totally lost in translation. I'll leave it at that because I already sound like a weeaboo.

I can only imagine what Teddie will say for the Kumada joke :/ But I'm talking about how the voices actually end up sounding like rather than the translations, and I'm okay with them. Except naoto. God that one just sounds so freaking monotone rather than + Show Spoiler + androgynous edit: This is for Angra, who needs serious help for a better persona line-up: 1) Sarasvati with Invigorate 2 anzu + orobas/pixie + forneus Do this fusion with Yukiko's link at rank 3 and Sarasvati will level up twice after the fusion, immediately learning Invigorate 2. You'll use this persona to fuse Jack Frost and pass down Invigorate 2, since Sarasvati by itself is kinda like a weaker version of Jack Frost. You need to follow one rule: Sarasvati must NOT learn bufu. It can learn other elements, but just strictly not bufu. 2) Jack Frost with Invigorate 2 + Resist Fire ukobach + saravati from above fusion + apsaras Try to get Yosuke's link to rank 5, so that Jack Frost will learn bufula when you fuse him. If not, you'll need to do a bit of leveling on Jack Frost before it learns a single-target spell. You'll need to level up ukobach until it learns resist fire at level 6. You can probably do it easily by equipping ukobach and having Yosuke or Chie clear a few rounds of enemies in Kanji's dungeon. Lastly, apsaras needs to be below level 7 so it doesn't learn bufu. Try to redo it until Jack Frost inherits both Invigorate 2 and Resist Fire. It may take a while, but it'll be worth it. As with all fusions save before fusing anything. And save on a new file in between fusions when doing multi-step fusions like this one.

I'm face-palming so hard after you fused Oberon away ((( You wanted a better electric persona -> Oberon learns elec boost next level (followed immediately by mazio) -> fuse it away for a higher level persona with lower magic stat -> replace that one with another persona you find later And then later you find a base Oberon in the dungeon and overwrite your entry in the compendium with it lol. Ahhhhh y u hate Oberon, op. At least you got that Xiezhai (aka electric sheep), which learns elec boost as well Eventually. I got to the end of part 1 of your vod, I was going to suggest you fuse Rakshasa for auto-tarukaja, but you actually already did it. Level it up! That one is good

1) level up Rakshasa once more to learn auto-tarukaja 2) Save your Rakshasa in your compendium (So you can buy it back after. Don't forget this step!) 3) Fuse Rakshasa + Anzu Rakshasa being the one you just leveled Anzu being the one you just fused (from last night, if you're reading this on Thursday evening) The result SHOULD be phoenix. If not, then I failed horribly. I'm just gonna cross my fingers here and assume I got it right: What should happen is the phoenix can learn a maximum of 4 skills (again, if not, uhh.. crap). Due to inheritance rules (which I'm going to spare you the explanation), two of the four skills are very likely to be Garu and Magaru from Anzu. Garu is redundant because Phoenix already knows Garula, but that's okay, you can just overwrite it the first moment Phoenix learns a 9th skill. For the 3rd skill, Phoenix should inherit auto-tarukaja, and the 4th skill could be whatever. Auto-tarukaja might be a little rare, so keep trying until you get it. Just to recap, Phoenix should have 4 skill slots and inherit the following 3 skills: 1) Magaru 2) Garu (actually a junk skill, but it's too difficult to not learn it) 3) Auto-tarukaja The result should be a high agility aoe fire/wind hybrid with auto-tarukaja. To use this persona effectively, switch to it before every battle, then you can use it or switch to another persona if needed when the battle starts. Note that this persona is actually quite brittle, with a glaring ice weakness and very low endurance. Try not to use it for boss fights. In fact, try not to use it unless you're sure you can wipe out all enemies in the first round. :< You might also notice a serious lack of SP with these new SP-guzzling personas. Get in the habit of using up your main character's SP, then returning to Yukiko's dungeon on floor 1 with that Jack Frost w/ Invigorate 2. Just spam guard a few dozen times to rapidly regain lost SPs. You can even remove everyone else from the party to speed up this process.
