Edmonton is a city known for its world-class festivals and frozen winters. The census metropolitan area population is just over one million, but the city itself has a population of 700 000. It is home to the Edmonton Oilers, the largest shopping mall in North American and the University of Alberta.
This northern city is an unlikely candidate to host any SC2 events. There are no hometown heros competing for Edmonton or community icons representing our city. Much to anyone's surprise, though, this city has a vibrant, thriving and expanding Starcraft community. While other North American cities may host one SC2 event per month, Edmonton has events scheduled for every weekend in September. The community has not grown overnight, but with a bit of love and care, we have built a great community.
Over the MLG Raleigh weekend, I made a video on each of the days while the community was out and about to promote local SC2 events and showcase what Edmonton does. I've heard "so jealous" and "wish our city could do cool things like that" too many times. If Edmonton can host SC2 events, any major city in North America can.
MLG in Edmonton Day 1: computers, tvs and nerds
MLG in Edmonton Day 2: oodles of noodles and nerds
MLG in Edmonton Day 3: a bottle of beer with a slice of nerd
edit: The Edmonton Journal ran an an article on BarCraft. Get hype!

Wonderful, simply wonderful. I have no clue how you managed to pump them out so quickly. It's what? 6 hours from the end of MLG?
