Hey guys, I am in China for the summer break and have been here for almost 4 weeks now. What I really miss is the YouTube videos and being able to watch all those parody SC2 music videos. Well today...
I was browsing Teamliquid and clicked on this thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=152330 What caught my attention was that I saw the three videos embed from Youtube. I didn't put much thought into it put I clicked the Youtube video and suddenly it started to play! I was so thrilled that I immediately opened up a new tab and typed in "Youtube.com". This is what I got:
My mind was blown away. I erased my previous google search and started to type in "Youtube unbanned in China". I saw an old TL thread pop up but apparently it was a false alarm and several months ago. I thought I was one of the first to discover that Youtube was finally unbanned and started to create a new topic on the General forums to get some e-fame, what? I am a hipster when it's about YouTube.
In that thread I wanted to have the picture of this thread "http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=152330" in it so I could show everyone how I saw the three videos. But I had closed that tab. So I started looking for it again...
When I found it I almost cried, I could not see the videos. I typed in YouTube.com in the adress bar and the same error that I hate to see came up. YouTube wasn't unbanned... I was just lucky to have fallen through The Great Firewall of China by accident. But after I climbed back to tell people the news, I couldn't get back in. I was crushed, so I made this blog! :/
Atleast TL isn't banned in China. Just looking on the bright side.

If only Justin.tv, owned3d, and youtube are viewable without "wall-leaping", we'd be a little closer to each other.

From Chineese cencory to... Watermelons? God offtopic can be wonderfully random..
Atleast watermelons are awesome ;>

I almost jumped when I saw the first part of the name of the thread since it was truncated in the sidebar.
Now I'm gonna be scarred for life by the false alarm and never eat a watermelon again. T.T
EDIT: I couldn't access TL for the whole of yesterday, whether due to Blizzard Downloader sucking up bandwidth (TW Client FTW) or something up with crappy internet, but I was scared out of my mind that Greatwall blocked TL. That would really suck.

Yup every so often I actually manage to get onto Youtube here. Next minute, it's blocked again.
At least Wikimedia was unblocked recently.

When I said to the contrary I meant that Google agrees xigua is sufficient in itself to render a translation =).
